Richardson’s Brilliance Becomes Evident

Trinity Church constructed in Boston, Massachusetts 1872-77Introduced the Romanesque Revival or Richardsonian Style

His buildings had rough, massive & masculine signature elements tied with a strong sense of unity

The Legacy Continues…His style influenced many, including some protégés

White and McKim had worked for RichardsonShepley, Rutan and Coolidge inherited Richardson’s firm

His grandson was president of the firm a century after the original firm was established
