Why• Urban areas home to >80% of population

• Urban forests on front line of service to people

• Urban forests not covered by strategic monitoring program

• Urban areas currently cover ~68 million acres (size of CO)

• Urban areas projected to cover ~165 million acres by 2060 (size of TX)
