Cy Miessler is currently a sophomore percussion performance major at the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music . He began his percussion studies in the sixth grade, studying with Dean Beltram . Miessler attended Clear Creek High School in League City, Texas, where he continued his studies with Dean Beltram and Daniel Vega . While attending high school, he successfully auditioned for the Texas All-State band his sophomore, junior, and senior years, earning the first-chair spot his senior year . He now studies with John Tafoya and has also studied with Kevin Bobo, Michael Spiro, and Steve Houghton . Miessler also enjoys acting, camping, cooking, and composing .
