ingly well, as did their handlers. Con-

gratulations to everyone who competed in

the two shows! All the best to those head-

ing the Royal Melbourne Show at the end

Paintballing

Paintballing Expedition involving residents of Roseworthy Campus (thanks to our senior residents and Accommodation Services),

Paintballing resulted in battle wounds worn by many of the participants by the end of the day... espe-

cially Jon Bartsch. However, it was a fantastic day nonetheless spent traipsing through mud followed

by a supplied barbeque lunch.

MAITIDLI CAFE NEWS Opening times during term

would like to thank you all for your continued support. Nikala and Cath

Twilight Evening at the Zoo

"Mixing business with pleasure - Adelaide University students talk shop with local veterinarians while enjoying the sights and sounds at the Adelaide Zoo."

On Saturday the 11th of September around 40 students enjoyed a Twilight Drinks Evening at the Adelaide Zoo hosted by the AVA under the beautiful rotunda. The evening started with twilight walks through the zoo and then drinks, nibbles and chatting with various vets who were kind enough to join us for the evening. The vets came from different parts of the industry, with a broad range of experiences, and after each introduced themselves the students were told to ‘go seek’ and chat to their choice. It was a great evening of networking and laughter and all too soon the event had to wrap up. Many of us followed up in town however, enjoying a nice promise of what spring evenings will be like soon!

RSVP Happy Tails Days

The welfare and ethics special interest group has a few events planned for October. Coming up

on Friday the 8th is RSPCA Happy Tails Day where people all over Australia get to go to work,

school wearing ears and tails. I will be selling ears and tails on campus in week nine. I only have

a limited number of ears and tails (many more ears than tails) so please come and see me early.

If you don’t want to dress up or you missed out there will also be boxes of other Happy Tails Day

merchandise with pens, bracelets, pins etc, one in the school office and one in the admin building.

Throughout October there will be a kitten season appeal to help the AWL. There will be donation

bins in the school office and canteen, please put in some food, toys, or bedding (donation of dog

food and toys also welcome). I am also looking into getting a speaker from the dog and cat man-

agement board to come and speak to us. The Dog and Cat Management Board is responsible for

legislation, planning and providing advice about responsible pet ownership. It is the only such

body in Australia. Please let me know if you would be interested in attending. Please let me know

if you have any ideas for future events or speakers ([email protected]).

Roseworthy Aggies Pub Crawl was another ripper night

spent by all who attended. This year’s pub crawl saw us start

at the Roseworthy Campus Tavern, then take the two buses

to Leiches Roseworthy Hotel, Wasleys Ridley Arms Hotel,

Gungellan Hotel and lastly Freeling Hotel before heading

back to campus. Plenty of singing, dancing, drinking and

shenanigans occurred took place throughout the night, of

course with many photos to support the blurry sections we

may not otherwise have remembered the next day.

Remember Roseworthy Charity Ball Saturday 30th October!!!
