Deze verven bevatten lithium dus moeten ze niet worden gebruikt voor de decoratie van glazen flessen die onder druk zijn wanneer gevuld.

De verven zijn bestand tegen zuren, alkali en mechanische afwasmiddelen.

De verven zijn in het algemeen goed onderling mengbaar. Maar verven met edelmetalen (productcodes die beginnen met “P”) moeten niet vermengd worden met de meeste van de andere kleuren. Ze kunnen wel vermengd worden met wit, zwart of blauw.

Resistante glasverven kunnen met penseel, kwast, airbrush (spuiten) of d.m.v. zeefdrukken worden aangebracht.

Inbrandtijd 10-15 minuten tussen 580-640°C, aanbevolen temperatuur 600°C, met een 2-3 uren programa. Snel opwarmen, houdt het object kort op de gewenste temperatuur, vervolgens langzaam laten afkoelen.

These paints contain lithium so they should not be used for the decoration of glass bottles which are under pressure when filled.

The paints are resistant to acids, alkalis and mechanical dish washing.

The enamels are colors that have been traditionally used for ages in painting on glass at lower temperatures. They fire mostly translucent unless otherwise stated in the name.

Wat is het verschil tussen alle witte emailles? De D2070, D2617, en D20129 zijn allemaal doorschijnend en mat. De D2070 is de meest doorschijnende, dan de D2617 heeft wat meer pigment, en de D20129 heeft het meeste. Alle drie branden mat in.

De DX603 en DX660 zijn opaak en semi-mat. De DX660 heeft veel pigment en vergeelt niet.

De D20511 en DX692 zijn opaak en heel glanzend, beide zijn een vleugje geel.

De D2879 is een lage-temperatuur inbrand flux in de transparante serie. Alleen gebruikt is het een heldere glazuur. Het kan worden toegevoegd om kleuren doorzichtiger te maken, of toegevoegd bij hogere temperatuur verven om het inbrand temperatuur omlaag te brengen.

What’s the difference between all the white enamels? The D2070, D2617, and D20129 are all translucent and matt. The D2070 is the most translucent, then the D2617 has a little more pigment, and the D20129 has the most. All three fire quite matt.

The DX603 and DX660 are opaque and semi-matt. The DX660 has great pigment load and does not yellow at all.

The D20511 and DX692 are both opaque and quite glossy, both are a touch yellowish.

The D2879 is a low-fire flux used in the transparent series. Used by itself it is a clear enamel. It can be added to colors to make them more translucent, or added to higher temperature colors to bring the firing temperature down.

These paints are suitable for general glass painting but should not be used on surfaces that come into contact with food. Transparent glass colors are not resistant to acid or alkali influences and if so exposed, easily become matt and lose transparency. Do not apply to the tin side of float glass.

The colors are generally mixable with each other. However, do not mix the precious metal containing colors (product codes that begin with “P”, “PR” and the Purple C 60/I) with the remaining colors. Also, F7137 Opal orange, F7138 Opal red, and F7140 Opal orange are not suitable for mixing with the other colors. Do not apply these paints to the tin side of float glass without testing first.

Transparent colors can be applied by brush, airbrush (spraying) or by screen printing. Applying the paint too thickly may result in the paint cracking.

To brighten the colors, mix with Flux 83. By adding 20–30% flux you can decrease the firing temperature by about 20°C (36°F).

The kiln exhaust should be very effective up to about 450°C (842°F). A fast temperature increase, short peak time and a slow cooling down is best.

Deze verven zijn geschikt voor algemeen schilderwerk maar mogen niet worden gebruikt op oppervlakken die in contact komen met voedsel. Silver stains: The higher the temperature / the longer the soak time, the deeper the silver stain color. Silver stain is darker on the tin side of float glass. If silver stain has been fired and is not dark enough, it may be reapplied over the same area and fired again. Silver stains should not be applied over other paints that have been previously fired (such as grisailles) but paints may be applied over silver stains that have been fired. Wipe or wash the ochre residue off the glass after firing.

Mix Copper red with only water or with water and a bit of water-friendly medium (for example, Sir Pete medium or glycol, see pag. 18). Only apply to the tin side of float glass. The firing temperature can be varied between 580°C (1076°F) and 700°C (1292°F) depending on the shade desired. Fire at least 30 minutes and cool slowly to allow annealing.

Firing paints mixed with oils / mediumsWhen firing paints with significant amounts of medium, this must be burned off for good results. With peephole(s) open, increase kiln temperature slowly to 450°C (840°F), hold at this temperature for 20-40 min, then close peephole(s) and fire normally.
