As we reflect on the first year of a new century serving the Greater Lehigh Valley, thank you for joining us to make our community a place of opportunity and equity for all.

The year started off with an amazing act of generosity. JB Reilly, president of City Center Allentown, announced the $1 million City Center Allentown Next Century Challenge to match any new or increased gifts to the Campaign. While we knew this would generate a true sense of community support, we had no idea the extent it would have across the Lehigh Valley.

Under the leadership of Campaign Co-chairs David and Sue Shaffer of Just Born Quality Confections, you showed us what it means to be PEEPS® Helping Peeps during the 2018-19 Campaign. Together, you raised a record-breaking $16,659,050. No other United Way in the nation has experienced this level of sustained, ongoing and increasing support. The giving spirit of the Greater Lehigh Valley is both rare and remarkable.

Thanks to you, we are making the largest community investment in our organization’s 101-year history. Because of you, we are creating real and lasting change:

• More seniors can stay safe and healthy at home • More families have access to nutritious food• And more students are achieving success in school.
