Analyze the Learner:

A class of 20 students. 15 boys and 5 girls. Innovation Class A group of different and all kinds of backgrounds. It is a public school. ½ of them are more visual

students. Middle Income families

Main Objective:

Students will describe the type of transportation innovation that has occurred in America from 1903-2003 which was a significant decade. Students will also categorize one transportation milestone they have researched and turn into a short power point along with the types of transportation they have found through the decade given to them on that day, and present with the class at the end of the week what collectively they have learned about each group of years. Each student will know a innovation that has taken place through this decade with 95% accuracy within one week, and the following week presenting their work.

Day by Day:

Monday: 1903-1923 (airplanes)

-Research the type of old airplanes that occurred and the Wright Brothers.

Tuesday: 1923-1943 (old ford truck)

-Do research of Henry Ford and his innovations.

Wednesday: 1943-1963 (Submarine)

-Watch short clips of the Titanic to see how ships were built and what they became.

Day by Day

Thursday: 1963-1983 (Moon boots)

-Look at the innovations made in outer space.

Friday: 1983-2003 (Speed train)

-Research how the railroad and train systems.

They will be given a few facts about these set of years that gets them thinking a little bit. They will research any milestones they can find collectively and keep their information throughout the week and at the end of the week put it all together and present their findings in a PowerPoint.

Use of Technology:

We will be using computers and internet to do our research. We also will be using power point and word to put together all the pieces.
