Offered: Hbt: sem 1Intermediate Microeconomics has two mainpurposes. First, it is a foundation unit in thestudy of economics. Starting from a number offundamental assumptions, this course developsthe neoclassical theory of the optimizing behaviorof consumers and firms. Intermediatemicroeconomics provides the essential buildingblocks for higher level economics and financeunits. Second, Intermediate Microeconomicsshows how the economic theory developed canbe directly applied to help solve the day-to-daydecisions that face managers, financiers andeconomists such as dealing with risk and time,minimising cost, production, maximising profitthrough pricing and analysing markets and
