Objectives:

Grammar Focus: Quantifiers

Quantifiers are determiners that show quantity in a phrase.

Example: 1. The majority of the people in my country keep up with current events. 2. Most business professionals are worried about the economy. 3. Quite a few (of the) people here are concerned about crime. 4. About half (of) the people I know voted in the last election. 5. Hardly any (of the) people I know are worried about crime. 6. Almost no one I know is really interested in politics.

Grammar Focus: Conditional Sentences

Use the past tense and the “if” clause and would + verb in the main clause to talk about hypothetical situations.

Example: If people cared more about the environment, our cities would be cleaner.

(Fact: People don’t care enough about the environment)
