Concept

Navi Mumbai is a developing city and development requires

educated, well informed citizens. Since the youth of a place

determines its future, AIESEC in Navi Mumbai took the

initiative to spread awareness about child rights and its

importance in various institutes, NGOs, housing societies and

government schools across Navi Mumbai and Thane.

Information seminars, donation drives and cleanliness drives

were carried out for a period of 5 weeks to create awareness

and help empower the under privileged children of Navi

Mumbai.

Project Umeed aimed at impacting lives of at least 500

underprivileged kids in a positive way and inform them about

the importance of education and develop their potential in

creative exercises such as art, dance and craft, helping them

find a purpose or guiding hope. This was done through

workshops organized at government schools by our project

partners Karmaksha Foundation, international interns from Iran

and Russia, various local volunteers and Team Umeed.

Project Umeed also aimed at connecting today’s youth to the

less privileged, thus giving them an opportunity to create a

difference. Through this project we took one step forward

towards our vision of ‘Fulfillment of human kind’s potential’.
