The Senate on October 5 confirmed the nominations of the Rev. Walter B. Zimmerman, the Rev. Stanley_H. Roberts, the RevT John' O. Dindctuist," and the Rev. Patrick J. Bydon to be chaplains in the army from October 1, 1917, -with the rank of first lieutenant. On the same day the Senate also confirmed the nomination of the Rev. Samuel A. Devan to be a chap- plain with ' the rank of " first, lieutenant from October 3, 1917. The latter is appointed to fill an original vacancy, p The following recently appointed chaplains, with, rank of first lieutenant, have been assigned to duty as follows: J. B. Buckey and C. J. Norris, to Camp Sherman; R. N. Cloyd and A. J. Rawlinson, to Camp Taylor; K. F. Nance and J. A. Cooper, to Camp Funston; J. A. Mulvey
