ABOUT THE UNIVERSITY Netaji Subhas Open University was established as State Open University in 1997 by an Act of West Bengal State Legislative Assembly and is recognized by the UGC –Distance Education Bureau (DEB) since its inception. The university has now emerged as major leader of open and distance education in India and has drawn national and international visibility due to its phenomenal growth. The University has clocked about 2,85,000 learners till date. NSOU provides quality higher education in flexible mode to serve the aim of establishing an equitable knowledge society within the state. ABOUT THE SCHOOL The School of Professional Studies was established by trifurcating the erstwhile School of Humanities and Social Sciences as per clause 15.(1) Netaji Subhas Open University 1 Statute (Revised) 2014 vide Memo No.Reg/1010 dated 5 June 2015. The establishment of the School of Professional Studies (SPS) reflects a holistic and pragmatic approach of the University towards the professional education in the modern era. The School conducts BDP and PG Courses on Commerce, Social Work and Library & Information Science. The University is providing vocational and non-conventional courses through the School of Vocational Studies so that the learners can engage themselves in income-generating livelihood. In the globalised era the Indian economy is one of the fastest growing economies in the world and it needs skilled and trained workforce. It is not possible for formal education system alone to provide desired number of skilled workers. In such a situation, Netaji Subhas Open University is giving the opportunity to upgrade the skill of existing work force by providing seamless vocational education and platter of pioneering courses of non-conventional in nature. Presently, there are 3000 learners on roll in 22 courses under this School st th ABOUT THE SEMINER A change in the corporate financial reporting has become a great necessity considering its importance in the financial decision making process. In the changed economy and government policy, the newly enacted Companies Act 2013, already introduced IndAS and the proposed GST will play a crucial role in the corporate sector. The one-day national Seminar will provide a platform for interaction on these issues among the academicians, researchers and industrialists. GUIDELINES FOR SUBMITTING PAPER All papers must be in English and be 3000words Abstract would be 300 words. The Review Committee reserves the right to edit or to reject any material submitted without assigning any reason to the author. Paper should typed in MS Word in A4 size paper in Times Roman, font size 12 (for heading and title 14pts) Papers will be accepted only through e-mail. Author should mention their full name, address, affiliation along with contact number and e-mail ID. The selected papers will be published in Volume with ISBN after blind review.
