Venue Location: El Dorado East Regional Park – 7550 E. Spring Street Long Beach, CA 90815 Registration: Opens at 7:00AM each race day (11/21-22) at Golden Grove Picnic Area – Area III Anti Doping: All races are conducted under USA Cycling, UCI and USADA anti-doping regulations.

Riders must check to see if they are required to submit to doping control. Doping Control will be located next to Golden Grove and include a private restroom facility and enclosed tent structure.

PART 1: Rules and Regulations

Regulations:

The race shall be held under the 2015 USAC/UCI regulations: notably, safety, starting order, course guidelines, and duration of events.

Participation:

Categories: The weekend event will include UCI elite women, UCI elite men, UCI U23 Men and UCI junior men 17-18 categories as well as USAC categories as part of the SoCalCross Prestige Series and shall be organized in accordance with USAC and UCI regulations.

USA Cycling categories will include:

Youth Boys and Girls calendar age 6-9, Junior Boys and Girls CX age 9-14, Junior Boys andGirls 15-18, Masters Men 35+A (CX1-4), Men 35+ B (CX 3-5), Men 35+C (CX4-5), Men 45+ A (CX1-4), Men 45+B (CX3-5), Men 55+ (CX1-5), Men 65+ (CX1-5), Women 35+ (CX1-4), Non UCI Men A (CX1-4), Non UCI Women A (CX1-4), Men B (CX3-5), Women B (CX3-4), Men C (CX4-5), Women C (CX4), Single Speed Men A (CX1-5), Single Speed Men B (CX3-5), Single Speed Women (CX1-4), Collegiate Men (CX1-5), Collegiate Women (CX1-4)

Racing Age: A rider's 2015-16 racing age, according to UCI. 5.1.001 The category to which the license-holder belongs on 1 January of the civil year following will be used for his participation in events for the whole season. In other words, A rider's racing age for all categories is determined by his/her age on December 31, 2016.

Start Order & Staging Protocol:

UCI rule 5.1.043 – Elite: The start order will be determined by the order of latest published UCI cyclocross points classification from highest to lowest. Riders without UCI points will receive start position by drawing lots. USAC races will be callled up by SoCalCross Prestige Series Points except Men and Women A (CX1-4) races will not gain points this weekend.

Race Timing & Results:

Race Timing and Results by SoCalCross Timing My Laps Timing System. Results can be found each day at www.SoCalCross.org/results-2

My Laps Personal Pro Chips can be used or day use chips will be provided. Personal Pro Chips can be purchased at race for $50 includes annual activation. Please return your timing chip each day. UCI racers will keep their chip for the weekend and return at the end of their race Sunday.

Race Headquarters & Media Press Room:

Race-Media HQ will be located in enclosed tents adjacent to Race Registration. Wireless hotspot internet access will be provided. Media and Staff passes will be required to enter.

Anti Doping:

All races are conducted under USA Cycling, UCI and USADA anti-doping regulations. Riders must check to see if they are required to submit to doping control. Doping Control will be located next to Golden Grove and will include a private facility and enclosed tent structure.

Bike Washing Area:

Spray washing will be available within the pit area as needed. There will be an auxiliary wash areas near the team Pro and VIP Team Parking Lot at Facility buildings.

Bike Pit Pass & Mechanic’s Protocol:

Mechanics’ pit passes for UCI elite men, women, U23 and Junior Men 17-18 races will be issued at Registration/Packet Pick-up. No other personnel will be allowed in the pit zone.

First Aid-Medical:

The First Aid-Medical tent will be located at the medical tent located behind Regisration Area overlooking the course including two ELS certified EMTs will be on site for the duration of the race day from course open to close closure. An ambulance will be placed closest to medical and in the start/finish west parking lot with two EMT personnel and medical doctor will be standing by at First-Aid-Medical.

Awards Area:

Riders finishing in the top 5 of UCI elite men, elite women, U23 men, and Junior Men 17-18 categories shall report IMMEDIATELY to the podium waiting area. Only riders and staff are allowed in the podium waiting area. NO EXCEPTIONS. Mechanics must post bikes in the “winner’s rack” within 5 minutes of the finish. Mechanics are to stay with the bikes until after their rider’s press conference.

Registration:

Pre-registration is available online via BikeReg.com at: www.SoCalCross.org/register Online registration ends Thursday – November 20h at 12N Pacific. Registration will also be available on race day at venue for all USAC Categories only. USAC race registration opens at 7am each day then 2 hours before each race category start and closes 20 minutes prior to each race wave start. UCI race day registration WILL NOT be allowed. All UCI registration MUST be done on-line BEFORE on-line registration closes Friday November 20th. UCI rider confirmation and race number pick-up closes 1 hour before each UCI race.

License Requirements:

USAC licenses are required to participate. One-day licenses will be available for purchase for $15 at race for non-UCI events categories CX4-5. Annual USAC licenses are required for CX categories 1-3. For UCI events Elite Men, Women and Juniors are required to hold a valid 2015 or 2016 UCI International License.

Pre-Reg/Online Entry Fees:

A $5.00 race day per day fee will be added to those not pre-registering online. 2nd race and additional are $5.00 after higher race price is paid. Weekend discount options available. www.BikeReg.com/CXLA2015

Prize Money Scale:

Prize money will be awarded per the UCI C2 race 2015-16 season Prize money scale for all UCI races. SoCalCross Prestige Series offers cash purse for Non-UCI A/Men B & Masters A and Masters Women catgories combined with women A/B. (See following page for breakdown).

COURSE DESCRIPTION:

This 3.3km long course consists of a slight uphill paved start straight followed by a mix of tight turns and long straights mostly flat grass and hard packed dirt while taking advantage of the natural elevation changes around the venue. There will be one double-stairs section, one log section, one double-barrier section, one sand pit. There will be a double bike pit (2-way) location in the center of the course, splitting the midway points in each direction of the course. It will include a bike wash station fas needed or races in progress. Auxiliary wash stations will be located at the Golden Grove and Lakeside buildings as needed.

THE COURSE IS OPEN FOR RIDER INSPECTION DURING THESE DAYS AND HOURS:

3pm-5pm Friday 11.20 then 7:30AM on Sat.Sun 11.21-22, then 12:30pm for UCI categories only. Also the course is open for warm up in between race waves throughout the race day when directed by the race official

ABOUT THE VENUE – EL Dorado East Regional Park:

El Dorado Park is located at 7550 E. Spring Street, Long Beach CA, 90815. The park is open to the public from 7:00am to sunset, 7 days a week. Golden Grove Area III is popular for bicyclists with the 2.5k circuit road around the park. Fishing, boat rentals and nature area with water fowl populate the lake that sits in the middle of the park. Both the Coyote Creek Bicycle Path and the San Gabriel River Bicycle Path cross the neighborhood. A 4-mile bikeway runs through the 450-acre El Dorado Regional Park and connects with the San Gabriel River Bike Trail at various locations. COMPLETE PARK INFO AT: http://www.lashp.com

FROM freeways 605 or 405 enter the Park at main gate on the north side of Spring St. Parking is $6 Friday and $7 Sat and Sunday. Head north follow signs to Area III Golden Grove. General parking is first come first served as well the San Gabriel River Trail Bike Path and the park has a 4 mile park bike path you can park and ride to the race from. VIP parking and team passes can be purchased online at www.BikeReg.com/cxla-pro-vip Enter off Wardlow Gate which takes you right to the race course. Parking marshals will direct you to your reserved space. We will have VIP parking passes as available first come first served. So reserve yours online until 9PM Friday 11/20. Teams can set up in the grass at around the park. Drop off tent and park in general parking if you choose not to select the VIP options.
