CME ON THE RUN! Nationally recognized for the Best Continuing Professional Development Program by the College of Family Physicians Canada!
Oct 19, 2012 to May 31, 2013: Six interactive Friday afternoon sessions at VGH or via your local videoconference room. Each session has eight focused short topics with clear speaker objectives and an assured minimum 1/3 time of participant/speaker interaction. The sessions address specific family practice learning needs with topics chosen by the physician attendees. Attention is paid to full curriculum completion over a two to three year cycle by the planning committee. Sign up for individual sessions or the complete series here: ubccpd.ca/event/cme-on-the-run
THIS CHANGED MY PRACTICE (TCMP)UBC CPD is a recipient of the 2012 Royal College Accredited CPD Provider Innovation Award for This Changed My Practice!
TCMP is a blog for physicians to share clinical “pearls” with new articles published every two weeks. Instead of providing summaries of trials as they come out, TCMP contributing physicians write about practice tips that truly impact their practice, clinical trials that change treatments, and new data that questions something done before. The website has a community feel, where you can discuss the topic with your colleagues and the author. You can earn 0.25 Mainpro M1 or MOC Section 2 credits per article.

CME from your local videoconference room.
The Rural Rounds videoconference series takes place on the first Thursday of every month from September to June. The series features case-based, interactive sessions presented by both specialists and family physicians who have experience or an understanding of practicing in a rural setting. Come and join the 40 rural or remote sites that regularly tune in to the series.
If you are interested in participating, please have your local CME or videoconference coordinator contact our o!ce for registration.
Please see the calendar for more details about the upcoming series, “Pediatric Emergency Medicine” beginning in September 2012, or contact: Andrea Keesey ([email protected]) 604.875.4111 x69139
The RCPD program is supported by the Rural Coordination Centre of BC (RCCbc).
(RCPD) programs are designed by rural practitioners, for rural practitioners.
Our team strives to make programming accessible, highly relevant, and of the greatest quality to meet the unique needs of medical providers who work outside of urban centres. Formats include mobile courses and workshops that travel to you, as well as videoconferences, online journal clubs, and webinars that are designed to maximize opportunities for interacting and learning with colleagues.
“This course needs to be taken by anyone practicing rural ER medicine.” – Past Shock Course Participant
The Shock Course is a one day course that travels to rural communities with an emergency room. It is designed for the team in your local ER – both physicians and nurses - and provides an overview and an update on the management of hemodynamically unstable patients in your setting.
This course includes hands-on time for learning and practicing bedside ultrasound (on live models), as well as central line insertion and management practice on mannequins. The course is Mainpro-C accredited and has now been to more than 30 communities around the province.
Bring the Shock Course to your community!
