“UALR’s continued growth and success is vital to the development of our community and state. The ASBTDC is proud to support the university through the Campus Campaign and strives each year to be a 100% department.”
— Janet Roderick ASBTDC State Director
“Obtaining this scholarship has allowed me to focus more on my studies without constantly stressing about my financial situation. Now I am closer to completing my degrees. I am
more than honored to be a recipient because I know there are some very talented individuals at this university. Being chosen allows me to continue on the path to completing my goal.”
— Vakeyia DulaneyBiology, Criminal Justice, and Spanish major
Rotary Scholarship
Why is the Campus Campaign Important?
Contributions from faculty and staff provide funding for programs, departments, and scholarships at UALR. Equally as important as this funding is the strong message this appeal sends to those OUTSIDE the university community, announcing to alumni, friends, corporations, foundations, and community partners that we support UALR and feel it is worthy of their support. When the Campus Campaign started in 2001, 6.5% of the campus participated. That support has grown over the last 10 years to 46% in 2010 with participation by all levels of benefits-eligible employees.
“Universities throughout the country strive to attain the level of participation we have had — year on year — at UALR. Each of us has the ability to determine where our donations go. And every bit helps provide
our students with scholarships, improve our facilities, and give support for areas of need. Whatever you give makes a positive impact on UALR, so join me today in the Campus Campaign.”
— Tonya Oaks SmithCampus Campaign Chair

The need is still there (despite previous
Campus Campaigns’ success and the
Comprehensive Campaign’s success).
It helps UALR make a stronger case to
external donors.
When funds are directed toward
scholarships, it helps with recruiting
and retention.
You’re in total control — you designate
where your gifts go.
It’s confi dential. No one outside
Development knows if you give or
how much you give.
It’s easy. You can donate online,
through payroll deduction, give cash,
or simply write a check.
When you give to the Campus
Campaign, you’re investing in the
future of the university, our students,
ourselves, and our surrounding
community.
Because, to quote William
Shakespeare, “Action is eloquence.”
You know fi rsthand what a great
university this is and can play a role in
keeping it that way.
Because we’re worth it!
It feels great to give back!
