Types of communication
Intrapersonal communicationCommunicating with oneself. Sending and receiving messages within oneself.
Some examples of intrapersonal (internal) conflicts are: A person who is dieting being offered a big piece of cake may have an intrapersonal conflict as to eat the cake or stay on the diet. A person who has promised to keep a secret mayexperience a conflict between keeping the secret or telling it to someone.
Nonverbal communication
Nonverbal communication is the process ofcommunication through sending and receivingwordless (mostly visual) cues between people. our facial expressions, gestures, eye contact, posture, and tone of voice
Interpersonal communication
communication that takes place between twopeople . It is an exchange of informationbetween two or more people. During interpersonal communication there ismessage sending and message receiving.
Small Group/organizational communication
Communication that takes place between more than two members.
Group members usually communicate equally
Groups of between 3 and 20 individuals generally work in a context that is both relational and social. Quality communication such as helping behaviors and information-sharing causes groups to be superior to the average individual in terms of the quality of decisions and effectiveness of decisions made or actions taken, such as working in teams.
Public/ presentational communication
Public communication (Presentationalcommunicational) occurs when a speakeraddresses a gathering of other people (anaudience) to inform, persuade or entertain.
