Simply stated, it is thesignal-to-noise ratio of the cabling system.PSNEXT is the ratio of the signal coupled ontoa fourth pair at the near end when the threeother pairs are transmitted, relative to theoriginal signal strength of the powered signal.In full-duplex environments, PSNEXT andattenuation are important parameters becauseall pairs transmit and receive at the same timeand excessive NEXT and attenuation can hurtyour network performance.

This is important because as PSACR isreduced, the receiver can have troubledistinguishing the signal from the noise.PSACR is a critical factor in judging thetransmission quality of an installed channel.
