Thank you to ALL the students who got involved with Jump Rope for Heart! A huge thank you for the effort skipping and fundraising for the Jump Rope for Heart program this term. This year with the Junior Primary alone, we raised an incredible $3012 and this money will all go towards vital heart research and education programs. We’ve loved seeing so many smiling faces skipping around the school and in P.E lessons. Our Jump Off Day was a huge success, you can see a few action photos from the day below. Congratulations on a very successful year of skipping and fundraising, keep up the good work and keep active! Our focus is now set on the next big event for the term which is Sports Day. We have been practicing our Sports Day activities, organising our House Teams and building morale. Make sure you come and support our children and the House Teams on Sports Day which is the last day of the term! There will be more details out soon. Kurt Ferguson (P.E Teacher)

BRAINWAVE This term, all classes are learning about the anatomy of their brains;

how they function, how stress affects the brain and ways to de-

escalate.

In week 10, we will be hosting BRAINWAVE. All classes will be

presenting what they have learned during the term. Classes will

send out invites to their intended audience and present their

learning in fun and interactive ways.

Are you reading at home?

Every time you support your child/ren at home to read a book or listen to you read a book counts. Did you know that as

children build fluency and phrasing (one aspect of becoming a balanced reader) they build up the number of words they

can read? A general guide is that at 8 years they can read 80 words per minute, 10 years 100 words and 12 years 120 words

per minute. As children become more confident readers, they build their vocabulary, fluency and comprehension.

Well done to the students for completing level 1 of Resilience and Wellbeing. It has been wonderful

to watch the students learn and grow throughout the program.

We are all very proud of the progress that has been made throughout the 3 terms. While it hasn’t

always been easy, we believe the positives far outweigh the negatives. I look forward to running this

program again in 2020.

Congratulations to our graduates:

Rosaleigh Evie Ashlynn

Christopher Hayden Axel

Emmanuel Hugo Kaleb

Ethan Ellenore Jaylen

Blayte Alira Cody

We ask that you talk to your children about the journey they have been on these past 3 terms. We

hope you enjoy reading through this journal with them.

Kind Regards
