Washington and Abraham Lincoln.
George Washington was our first president.
He married Martha Washington.
He lived at Mount Vernon in Virginia.
Storytellers tell us that George Washington cut down a cherry tree his father had given him. When his father asked him if he had cut the
tree down, he could not tell a lie and said yes I did.
He wore three cornered hats.
He is on a quarter.
He is on a dollar bill.
This is the Washington Monument that helps us remember all he did for
us.
He is one of the presidents who is on Mount Rushmore.
This is a rock monument.
Abraham Lincoln was our 16th president.
He liked to read and do math.
He married Mary Todd Lincoln.
He lived in a log cabin.
He is on a penny.
He is on a five dollar bill.
He wore a top hat.
He is on Mount Rushmore, too!
This is the Lincoln Memorial. It helps us remember what he
did for us.
