Getting Started● MOST IMPORTANT: follow @Sage_Summit!● After signing up, follow a handful of accounts to create a
customized stream of information on your homepage. ● Following means you'll get that user's Tweets on your Twitter homepage● You can unfollow anyone later on.

Twitter Etiquette● It’s a cocktail party● Listen first, then engage● Don’t follow more than 3X the number of your
followers● HAVE FUN!
140 Characters● It’s best to use only 120 so people can
Retweet your message easily ● Here’s a great example of a 120 character
tweet: ● I'm headed to the Sage City Accounting Village at
#SageSummit! Who's joining me? Can't wait to meet with my peers!
Hashtags (#)● Used to organize posts & index content
● Events - #SageSummit, #olympics● Topics - #blyDea, #nascar, #leadership,
#allthesocialladies● Here’s an example:

@username (no space between @ and their name)
● Here’s an example: ● @Sage_Summit Thanks for your #SageSummit
Twitter cheat sheet for beginners!
Retweet (RT)● A Retweet (RT) is when you forward on
someone else’s tweet. ● It’s good etiquette to put RT @username before
the copied tweet. ● Here’s an example:
● RT @suzspear: First #SageSummit social media team call today! Awesome team!
Giving good tweet● Use the hashtag or invent one!
● Keep it short, be funny and have fun!● Perfect the tweet
