Spotlight on Spirituality For April: Grace
“Grace is God as a heart surgeon, cracking open your chest,
removing your heart - poisoned as it is with pride and pain -
and replacing it with his own.” Max Lucado
“I do not understand the mystery of grace: only that it meets us where we are and does not
leave us where it found us.” ~ Anne Lamott, Traveling Mercies: Some Thoughts on Grace
“I consider my life worth nothing to me, if only I may finish the race and complete the task
the Lord Jesus has given me; the task of testifying to the gospel of God’s grace.”
~ The Apostle Paul (Acts 20:24)
“Grace always demands the answer of gratitude. Grace and gratitude belong together like
heaven and earth. Grace evokes gratitude like the voice of an echo. Gratitude follows grace
like thunder follows lightning.” ~ Karl Barth, 20th century Swiss theologian
“Wherever life plants you, bloom with grace.” ~ French Proverb

All about the Doolittle Raid
1:00pm - The Gulden Community Center
On April 18, 1942, 80 men led by Lt. Col. Jimmy Doolittle took off in B-25s from an aircraft
carrier to bomb Japan. It was the first retaliation after Pearl Harbor, and while the physical
damage to Japan was minimal the raid was a tremendous boost for morale back home. Nearly
every year since the raid, the men gather for a reunion —the last of which was held in Fort
Walton Beach. As part of the tradition, they hold a toast before a set of 80 goblets engraved
with each Raider’s name. After the toast, they overturn the goblet of any Raider who passed
on that year. In honor to Major Thomas C. Griffin our beloved Twin Tower resident and
remarkable American Hero, we will present a series of 4 Military Channel DVDs “All about the
Doolittle Raid.”
1. April 4th - The Brain Storm

“WHEN USING THE NUSTEP, IS IT BETTER TO DO SMALL
STRIDES OR LONG STRIDES?”
THE CONNECTION
15 Minutes Can Save Your Life!
The Mercy Health Mobile Mammography Unit will be at Twin Towers parked
outside the Greeno Entrance.
April 6, 2015
8:30am – 11:30am
Please call 513-686-3300 today to schedule your
appointment.
The NuStep was designed for all populations, which includes
individuals with no limitations to individuals with certain
physical restrictions. It was designed to be very low impact
on the joints but also to give individuals a full body workout by
working the upper and lower body.
It is beneficial to go throughout the entire range of motion
when using the NuStep because you challenge the entire
muscle and joints with the longer strides.
However, some individuals cannot go
through the entire range of motion due to
physical limitations, which means they are
taking shorter strides. Ideally, you should
use the NuStep and take as long as
strides as you can without causing any
pain or overly fatiguing yourself.

We’ve come a long way baby….Do you remember those catchy quips that we red, heard or
tried to craft ourselves to get the attention of another person? Often, I do an annual inventory
of what has been accomplished with my team members. I often share with them what a great
job they have done to do God’s will, bless the residents, show appreciation and honor those
residents and volunteers who go to a better place at the end of their journey. Truly, each
year we continue to come a long way….from where we had started to where we arrive on
December 31st.
In the over 12 years I have been blessed to work with a phenomenal gentleman Tom Reusch
whose quiet demeanor may have him appear a bit shy. He is bright, humorous, hard working
and very faithful. I could not ask for a better person to work with. Over the years we have
hosted countless golf outings, volunteer appreciation events, fiesta’s, luau’s, Pastoral Care &
Park Committee meetings, blessings of the Angel Tree and concerts asking for free will
offering to name a few of his accomplishments. If time permits, stop in and share a kind word
with him.
Tom has sacrificed his time, his talent and treasure to show you how much he appreciates
working at Twin Towers. That is something that I admire. Just as Tom has worked hard, so to
have our volunteers & residents who do Friendly Visitation, Tower Desk greeters, worship
service, the Morning Announcements, Opening Minds through Art (OMA), Gifts-n-More,
straightening of the Library, Recycling and so many other happenings that bless so many.
A VERY BIG THANK YOU!!!!
Thank you for your faithful support of time, treasure and sharing the talents that Christ has
bestowed upon you. Twin Towers is the Light upon the hill due to all the efforts of all of our
residents, associates and our volunteers.
If you are interested in learning more about our volunteer needs, please call Tom Reusch at
853-2008. We would love to have your gift of time and talents. We would also ask you to ask
for the perfect gift from your family members by making a gift to the Benevolent Care Fund,
the Pastoral Care Fund, the General Fund or the Wilson Chapel Fund. It is a great way to be
honored and a great way to support the ministry of Twin Towers. Please pick up a brochure
of our needs that are available in the hallway’s throughout the main building. Together we
will continue the great works and continue to come a long way baby…..
