CHURCH CLEANING

Crew #3 will clean church on Sept. 29 at 7:00 a.m..

From our Pastor…

The Apostles have been with Jesus for almost three years. They have heard his message of “repent and reform your lives”, and they have seen him perform miracles to back up what he says. In today’s Gospel, the Apostles still don’t fully understand the purpose of the Christ and that he must suffer and die, even when Jesus speaks plainly. They won’t fully understand it until after the Resurrection. We shouldn’t criticize the Apostles too much. We act in the same way. We hear, “Love your enemies and pray for your persecutors”, and yet, we often fail. We know Jesus died and rose from the dead, but we sometimes live like Jesus is a man of the past and powerless to save us from the anxieties of life. Today, we are challenged to examine our

priorities, order our actions to more fully em-

brace the Gospel message and strive to be the

best version of ourselves. A shortcut to this is

to shift the focus from placing too much em-

phasis on ourselves to serving the needs of

others and our parish.

God’s Blessings,

25 DOMINGO ORDINARIO Por: Padre Jairo Congote

LIFE CHAIN 2018 Life Chain Sunday will be held Sunday, October 7, 2018 across the nation. Once again, Columbus Area Christians of all denominations will be joining together for the 29th year for this national event to peacefully and prayerfully stand firmly against the killing of unborn children. This is legal, peaceful and prayer-ful activity that has saved the lives of many preborn babies des-tined to die by abortion. For more information call 402-2766-0965 or 402-564-5071.
