These are extraordinary times we're living in and the situation is likely tocontinue for some time. We're all going to find ways to manage andmake our way through it and hopefully all of us will come out the otherside of this.
We're all focused on the Coronavirus and the affects this is having onus. Many of us are now without employment, others are members of thefront line and fighting this in hospitals, others have elderly parents,friends or relatives they worry about, we have school-age children not inschool, some of us can pay our bills and others can't and we're all takinga hard hit financially. It goes on and on.
I want to make sure important information reaches those who dosubscribe but we still have a rather meager email subscriber list. I'm alsoneeding to deal with assorted issues personally directly relating to thiscrisis and am going to take a different approach to this newsletterbecause I need to tend to those.
The Garden District has a huge subscriber list. Meg Johnson is theirsecretary and is the one who puts out their newsletters. She is doing anincredible job of keeping those on the GDNA subscriber list up-to-dateand informed. She believes and acknowledges how powerfulinformation is and the connections to the neighborhood that can be madethrough a newsletter and I strongly believe that too.
Instead of spending lots of time re-creating those article blocks in thisnewsletter, I am instead going to include a link to the latest online GardenDistrict Newsletter below and list a variety of topics in that newsletter thatmay pertain to those of us here. I am also going to include some otherinformation pertaining to North Dodge and this pandemic in generalbelow. I hope to be back to putting out our "normal" newsletter in ournext installment.

Pima County Health Dept Needs Volunteers
PIMA COUNTY, March 31, 2020 - The Pima County Health Department is mobilizingvolunteer opportunities through a dedicated website as the COVID-19 emergencyresponse continues to unfold. The website, called pima.gov/COVID19Volunteer, directsvolunteers to the AZ-ESAR-VHP registration system, which stands for Arizona EmergencySystem for the Advance Registration of Volunteer Health Professionals.
Volunteers with any medical background may register in the ESAR system under theorganization title “MRC (Medical Reserve Corps) of Southern Arizona.”
Under Governor Ducey's Executive Order issued March 30, 2020, volunteers areconsidered Essential Workers. Brian Eller, a program manager with the Pima CountyHealth Department who is coordinating volunteer efforts during the pandemic, said allvolunteers are welcome, particularly those with medical expertise.
Keith Boesen, a pharmacist and the chair of the Medical Reserve Corps of SouthernArizona, emphasized that registrants should be as detailed as possible with theircredentials and licensing information.
“This will greatly help us place you as the situation advances,” Boesen said. “We especiallywill need nurses with Emergency Department and Intensive Care Unit capabilities.”
When registering, volunteers may choose from three options.
Health or medical volunteers can register under MRC of Southern Arizona;
Pima County residents (as individuals) can register under “Pima County” or “PimaCounty Health Department;” and
Faith-based and church group volunteers can register under “Pima County-FaithBased.”
