How Unitel Works…?

• Unitel works and enable you to make calls through Internet using VoIP.

• You need to have Internet connection to use Unitel.

• The connectivity of Internet can be in any form such as, Broadband, WiFi, 3G, GPRS/WAP, etc…

What is VoIP…?• VoIP stands for Voice over Internet Protocol.• Protocol is a set of rules which is used by computers

to communicate with each other over the network. • Think of you are changing your house, now you will

need something like Trailer or some sort of transportation to move your stuff from old one to the new one.

• Protocol is the same, It is a carrier which carries voice and data from one end to the another in VoIP.

• It is nothing but a carrier (which carries your voice and data from one end to an another).

• The ends can be anything like, your Pc/Laptop, Mobile phone, etc…

Which Protocol for Unitel..?

• We use SIP (Session Initiation Protocol).• It is a Signaling Protocol used for

multimedia communication session controlling.

• Easiest way to do video conference, instant messaging, voice calling, etc…

• There are other protocols available in the real world BUT the reason we are using SIP because of its reliability, quality and consistency.

Unitel Connections:

• We provide 3 sorts of connections: (I) Pc Soft phone: - Works on the Computers, Laptops.

(i) (II) ATA Home Phone:(ii) - Converts your normal Analog home phone to

VoIP telephone.

(III) Mobile Dialer: - Being used on your cell phones.

Unitel Pc Soft Phone:

• We provide you with the piece of software that turns your Pc into telephone line and allows you to make calls to any landline/Mobile in the world.

• Easy to set it up.., Download the software, Install it, Run it & forget it….!!!!

• Facilities like, call recording, transfer, SMS, Don’t disturb, call forwarding, etc…

• At the moment there are three different types of soft phones available. 1st one is on right very basic, 2nd one is having additional facilities like, conference, on hold, etc… While, the 3rd one is enabled with video conference.

• All you have to do is, just add in your Unitel number and password.

• If you want to download the video conference dialer, than you will have to do some extra configuration as shown on the next page…

• You have no need to do anything to use 2ndsoftphone on right, just add your Unitel no. & password…..!

• Simple configuration on the Soft Phones are shown and explained on the coming slides….>>>>>

Configuration for Basic Soft Phone: Click on Config & Just add your Unitel No. & Password..That’s all.....!!!

Video Conference dialer Configuration:

• Download the dialer from our website, Run it and Install it…!

• After the installation is done, click on the 1st error and go to SIP account Settings….

• Click on Add, it will pop up another window, in that window all you have to set is Account section.

• Display Name: Anything you like • User Name: 80012345 (Your Unitel No.)• Password: ******• Authorization User name: 80012345 (Your Unitel No.)• Domain: sip.myunitel.us• Proxy: 208.89.104.225 (Look picture on next slide..)

Unitel ATA Home Phone:

• ATA stands for Analog Telephone Adapter.• It is a magnet box design to allow you to connect

your existing home headset to the internet. • It converts your normal (existing) telephone line

into VoIP Telephone line.• Through ATA, you can use your both existing

landline number as well as the Unitel international number. You can receive a call on any of your numbers (Landline or Unitel).

Unitel ATA Home Phone:

• Easy to connect. • It is already configured by us, “Just Plug & Play”.• Contains port for Internet line, Analog (normal

telephone)Telephone and Power adapter.• Connect Internet line to your Internet Modem,

telephone line to your telephone and supply power through adapter.

• Your Pc and ATA can work at the same time (No need for an additional Internet line).

Unitel Mobile Dialer:• To use Mobile VoIP services, cell phone users

need to download the mobile client, which is a software application, to their mobile headset.

• Once downloaded and configured with the service providers account details, cell phone users can start making VoIP calls from their regular cell Phones.

• You will need to have GPRS/WAP, 3G or Wi-Fi access for making these calls.

Before Starting with Unitel Mobile VoIP....

• Make sure that your GPRS/WAP, 3G is enabled on your mobile headset.

• Make sure that you have saved the GPRS settings on your mobile sent to you through SMS by your primary service provider.

• Make sure that you are in the right timing zone on your mobile set (Date, time and location).

• Signal strength on your mobile headset.• Try and surf/browse on your cell using

GPRS/WAP, 3G, Wi-Fi to check the connectivity of internet on your mobile.

Which mobiles will work with Unitel….?

• There are two main things you must have on your headset (I) Internet connectivity and (II) Installer.

• Internet connectivity must be enabled on your headset like, GPRS/WAP, 3G service.

• And you have to have installer on your cell phone. Installer is nothing but a OS on your cell phone like Symbian, Windows, etc…

• Without Installer, You will not be able to install the VoIP software provided by us. Like, I have a boat but there is not water in the river.., What will happen……!!!!

• You have to have both of these features on your cell phone. If any of them is missing, your cell phone will not be supporting Unitel features.

How to know about the Installer..?

• Once you download the software on your mobile/memory card, Install it….!

• Go to the options, there will be a prompt on your cell like save, move, mark, etc….

• Is there a option Install…?• If yes, than you can install the mobile dialer on

your cell phone. If not than your cell phone is EPROM (Read only memory), all you can do is, save music files and listen to them…

• All Nokia N & E series, Windows Phones (like, HTC), iPhone are illegible to be used with Unitel.

What Internet speed is needed..?

• 56 kbps is enough to make a voice call, But if you are looking for good quality and other functionality like video conference than 128 kbps is a good speed.

• Too much….? NO = Dial Up connections were used to provide the same speed which is out of date now. Every one is using broadband and having 1 Mb or 2 Mb speed connections.

• 1 Mb = 1024 kbps (Way too much…..!!!!)• Having a echo or double sound while making a voice call…? =

Simply decrease volume on your cell phone you using and it should solve it.

• In mobile dialer, you should have either of GPRS, WAP, 3G or WiFi to make or receive calls.
