A new online application market place brings the work of Forum Nokia developers to 35 million

Turkcell subscribers in Turkey

In early October, Forum Nokia’s EMEA Business Development team reached a significant milestone in their

plans to make Forum Nokia the preferred partner for mobile developer communities and mobile operators

throughout the region. Working with Turkcell, the leading mobile operator in Turkey, and the third biggest

GSM operator in Europe based on subscriber numbers, Forum Nokia helped Turkcell in the creation and

launch of their application market place for Turkcell’s more than 35 million subscribers.

The application market place launched earlier this month at CeBit EurAsia in Istanbul, the biggest event for

consumer electronics in the region. The show was expected to attract more than 150,000 visitors from 70

countries.

"This arrangement with Turkcell is going to provide valuable exposure to many developers working with

Forum Nokia today,” said Gian-Luca Cioletti, Head of Business Development for Forum Nokia EMEA. “We

expect that this relationship will continue to grow and expand in the months ahead. It is a great model for

what can be accomplished when we work as a team with our channel partners on go-to-market

opportunities such as this one.”

More then 100 mobile applications from Forum Nokia developers were deployed to the portal at the time of

the launch, and more are in the pipeline for public distribution. The available applications cover a broad

range of needs, from enterprise-based tools to productivity enhancers and other utilities. There are even

categories for hobbies, health, travel and religion.

An English language version of the Turkcell application portal is available online.

This application portal visibly promotes Forum Nokia with the placement of its logo and a link to its Web site

at the bottom of every page.

According to Cioletti, the EMEA Business Development team “received high marks and recognition,” both from

the developers and Turkcell for the consultation and work that was done to set up this dynamic application

market place.

Forum Nokia and Telenor Group

Shortly after launching the application market place with Turkcell, Forum Nokia’s EMEA Business

Development team reached an important agreement to start promoting applications and services in

Playground, the application portal for the Telenor Group. Serving more than 150 million subscribers in 12

countries, the Telenor Group use the Playground portal to select and deploy new applications and services in

their markets.
