Tuntable Falls Community School www.tuntablefallsschool.nsw.edu.au 6689 1423 [email protected] 117 Upper Tuntable Falls Road Nimbin NSW 2480 September 12 th 2019 Newsletter 3 Term 3 Next Issue Due 24.09.19 From The Committee: Hi Lovely families, We have some new families to welcome to our school. A big welcome to Pia and Rain. Rain has joined Ishta and the 1/2/3 class. We hope they are loving our school and community so far. We also welcome Shannon and Melody with their son Teo. Teo has joined Jessica and the kindergarten class. It was so lovely to see so many parents at this year’s Book Week celebration. It is becoming such a lovely tradition and our students looked just fabulous. It was a wonderful morning sitting in the sun watching as each student stood up so proudly to show off their costume and story. The parent catch up on Friday after school was lovely. Quite a few parents turned up with some goodies to share. It was also great to chat with teachers on a more casual level. As the bindies are going crazy at the moment we would love to have a couple of afternoons like this, where we have a beverage and pick bindies. This is an enjoyable social activity while also making our children’s playground one where they can run bare foot without the issue of those nasty bindies. Minjerribah Camping will be upon us before we know it. The trip takes place from Monday 14 th October to Saturday 19 th October and takes the place of our third week of holidays. So, for those who were unclear, we have 2 weeks of holidays and then we have Minjerribah. Make sure you book your ferry as the camp sites have been booked. Thankyou to Nicola for the organisation of this mammoth task. If you haven’t handed in your paperwork please do so immediately. Please make sure you let myself or Nicola know when you can help with the packing or unpacking of the trailers. We still need help when the trailers arrive at the Island, when we leave and when we get back to school. It would be great if you pick one that suits your timetable. Their capabilities withEquivalent Fractions has been very useful whensomeonebeats them to theHalf-CupScoopand theyend up with the Quarter-Cup Scoop. Anyinconsistencies in accuracy of measurements oftenappeared to be related to sugar, with notableconsequences such as burnt biscuit-bottoms anderraticconcentrationspans.
