• E-waste includes computers, cell phones, televisions, radios, printers, calculators and other electronic devices and components.

significant amounts of precious and base metals, it is a potential secondary source of these metals.

• The world generates an estimated 20 to 50 million tons of electronic waste each year, and separation is one way to recover these valuable metals for reuse.

Tuffman® - Eriez® Solution

Metal Separation System• The Tuffman®-Eriez® Metal Separation System is

designed to process electronic waste or automotive shredder residue (ASR) and separate out ferrous and nonferrous metals.

The small fines travelup another incline conveyor to a drum magnet and an Eriez® Eddy Current Separator.

The Process• The remaining shredded e-

waste travels up one more incline conveyor to an Eriez® ProSort II Metal Recovery System. The ProSort II requires 75 percent less energy than an air-driven sorter and has a low operating cost, as well as sensor-activated paddles that deflect detected materials.
