STATE TIMES NEWS RS PURA: Dozens of farm-ers belonging fromSuchetgarh and RS Puraareas of Jammu divisionunder the banner of All J&KKissan Congress leadersstaged protest against theFarm Bills.

Led by Ch. Gharu Ram,Former Minister andChairman of J&K KissanCongress and Prabhu SinghVice-Chairman, the partyleaders and workers raisedslogans against the BJPgovernment at the Centre.

The protest rally wasorganized as a part of KissanCongress initiated unprece-dented 'Satyagraha' againstthe BJP led Government foramending 'Anti-Farmer' bills2020 on day four. TheProtest was organized byDistrict Kissan Congress,Suchetgarh and RS Puraunits under the leadership ofCh Gharu Ram. The farm-ers, Kissan Congress mem-bers and leaders demandedimmediate revocation toanti-farmers bills.

Talking to reporters,Gharu Ram said that thefarm bills must be with-

drawn as they are not benefi-cial for farmers. "Underfarm bills the farmers will beenslaved at the hands of pri-vate players and big busi-nesses," he said and addedthat the farmers in J&Khave been pushed to devasta-tion by the anti-farmers billspassed by the BJP ledGovernment. He said thatthe farmers have lost faith inthe BJP-led CentralGovernment as it passed theBills that were totallyagainst the best interest ofthe farming sectors and landowners.

"Farmers' income and the

price of produce will bedirectly in the hands of bigcorporate houses whom thefarmers will have no contactwith and control over thedecision of decidingMinimum Support Price(MSP)," Gharu claimed.

The agitating famers saidthat their Mandi system ofbuying and selling of producewill totally vanish and farm-ers will be forced to sell theircrop production at merecosts. They demanded theimmediate revocation of thefarm bills as these are anti-farmers.

As per the new farm bills

introduced by the BJP ledgovernment, APMC systemwill be replaced by MSP andprice will be informed tofarmers after the decision ofMSP will be finalized by thebuyers (Corporate housesand private players). Theland owners will not be thedeciders of their produce.

Gharu lamented at theBJP-led government fordepriving the farmers oftheir own blood and sweat.

Gharu Ram asserted thatthe 'Satyagraha' shall contin-ue till October 2 in which sev-eral protests and rallies willbe organized to mark resent-ment against the BJP gov-ernment for betraying farm-ers of the nation.

STATE TIMES NEWS SAMBA: The UnionGovernment has decided toopen form 10,000 FarmersProducers Organisations(FPOs) across the nationwhich is part of the ModiGovernment's efforts to dou-ble farmers' income.Through these FPOs, thefarmers would get a higherprice of their crops.

This was stated by TarsemManhas, UT Convenor ofPrime Minister JanKalyankari Yojana PrasarAbhiyan (PMJKYPA) in aconference held at Birpur inParampara Balak, DistrictSamba which was organsiedon the guidance and call ofPusesh Arya, NationalPresident, ShailendraVijayvargiya, in-chargeJammu and KashmirProvince.

The meeting was conductedby Panchayat PresidentPraveen Gupta in whichmany issues were discussedincluding issues of farmers,problems of common massesresiding in poor areas.

Manhas said that the needyand the general public arenot getting the benefit of the

schemes released by the cen-tral government. He threwlight on major schemeslaunched by the PrimeMinister for public welfareincluding Mudra Yojana,Kisan Credit Card Scheme,Prime Minister CropInsurance Scheme, StreetVendor Yojana, Rehdi-Phadi,Milk, Vegetable ones, etc.

Manhas discussed theschemes specially implement-ed for farmers, in whichthere is also a provision foropening 10000 FPO centersacross the country byAgriculture Minister KailashChaudhary so that farmerscan get higher prices fortheir crops by getting anaccurate assessment ofcrops. Apart from this, dis-cussions were also held about

facility centers in whichemphasis was laid on openingof Suvida Kendras at everydistrict, Tehsil, block, andPanchayat level in Jammuand Kashmir. Manhas saidthat at least 300 SuvidaKendras are ready to beopened in Jammu andKashmir. In this way, allthese schemes can benefit thepeople. During the meeting,youth, prominent persons ofthe area joined the campaignunder the leadership ofTarsem Singh Manhas.

The protest was led by J&KPradesh Youth CongressState Vice President AjazChoudhary, DistrictPresident Poonch IdreesGanai and District VicePresident Sajad Khaki.

While showing resentmentover the bill passed by BJPled government, AjazChoudhary, State VicePresident JKPYC said thatthese laws are going to causethe collapse of the system ofselling farm products in mar-ket yards. Because of theinterference of the centre,the states have to lose theirconstitutional right of agri-cultural markets which isunder the state list.

He further added that"these bills have has pushedthe farmers into a critical sit-uation. If the ordinance hadbeen in favour of the farmersthe government would havediscussed and revealed thecontents of the bill to thenation. These Acts will meancomplete withdrawal of theGovernment from procure-ment and put farmers at themercy of corporate compa-nies. It is aimed to facilitateprofiteering by big playerslike Adani Wilmar, Reliance,Walmart, Birla, ITC etc.

While addressing theprotest demonstration,District President Poonch,Idrees Ganai said that theseanti-farmer bills are meant

to restructure our country'sagricultural economy infavour of big landlord corpo-rate-traders nexus and thebills are made with intentionto help the corporate agri-businesses at the cost of poorfarmer's hard work. "Thethree legislations are intend-ed to finish off the APMCMandis, Government's role inprocurement at MSP, allowcorporates the freedom forhoarding, black-marketingand promote contract farm-ing by corporate agribusi-nesses", he said.

District Vice PresidentPoonch Sajad Khaki saidthat the Modi government'sdecision of demonetisation,its "faulty" implementation of

GST and the inept handlingof the COVID-19 situationand lockdown have"destroyed" the country's eco-nomic structure.

"When Narendra Modibecame the prime minister,he promised the youth of thecountry that he will give jobsto 2 crore youths every year.He sold a dream, but thereality is that 14 crore peoplehave become unemployed dueto the policies of NarendraModi," Khaki alleged.

Polytechnic of J&K.There are a lot of students ofITI who have completed theirone year/two yearcourses(under NCVT/SCVT)due to delay in conducting theirfinal exams, they are unable totake admission in further high-er courses under Lateral EntrySystem and so their preciousone year is going to be wastedand their future is at stake.
