AUGUST HIGHLIGHTS
No Aug. Mtg. Activities Committee Meeting Big Sky 2016
Next 3 Happy Hours Pix from July Happy Hour
HOLY MOLEY! Did y’all get out and see that Blue Moon last weekend?!? What a way to end July. The rain has given way to sun-ny sky's. So let's enjoy the rest of our summer activities! We had a great turn-out for the July Happy Hour at the Buckeye Lake Yacht Club with over 50 members coming out to enjoy what turned out to be a lovely evening. This was a great event to help support the area, so let’s do the same for Friday’s Happy Hour at Papa Boo’s, too. Those of you who went to see Trumpet in the Land and the winery will let us know how it all went! Our next big event is the Put-in-Bay Elvis weekend September 11th through the 13th. This will be a fun time, as per usual, and the reminiscence factor just takes it to the next level. Don’t forget that we need your de-posit for the Big Sky 2016 trip. Please join the fun by signing up & making your deposit at the September meeting. Remember! There is NO August meeting, so we’ll see you at the Septem-ber Membership Renewal Meeting on Sept. 1st at Harbor Hills. Come renew your membership at the lowest prices around. And yes, the club will be providing the food. See ya soon,
Your Prez Mark Weiser

BIG SKY, MT 2015 March 19-26, 2016
Even though it is 5 months till ski season and 9 month to the Big Sky, Montana trip, I wanted keep everyone up to date on this fun filled trip. First about the mountain: Big Sky is one of the largest uncrowded ski mountains with 5,800 acres, 300 named runs, 4,350’ vertical, 30 lifts, and is usually described by acres per
skier instead of skiers per acre. There is terrain for all abilities. Big Sky provides daily, on mountain tours at 10:30 a.m. geared towards intermediate skiers explaining all the amenities of the mountain and area. Skiing not your thing or you just want to take a break? The resort offers zip lines, tubing, dog sledding, climbing walls, and a giant swing. There are several shops, spas, restaurants, bars, and night clubs to explore in the village just a few 100 yards away.
Horseback riding and sleigh rides are also available. If you really want to explore, there are trips availa-ble from BS into Yellowstone via a motor coach. From there you can snow mobile or take a snow cat into Yellowstone visiting Old Faithful and other attractions of this wonderful national park. The trip is the week of 3/19/16 through 3/26/16 leaving from Columbus and arriving in Bozeman, Mt. There we hop on a chartered bus with the first stop being a grocery/liquor store to pick up the es-sentials. We will then take an hour or so drive to Big Sky where we unload at our home away from home at The Big Horn Condos, all three bedroom/three bath units. These condos offer washer/driers, fireplaces, large closets, and balconies. They have access to the Huntley Lodge swimming pool, hot tubs, and fitness center if you didn’t get enough exercise on the mountain. We will have a welcome wine and cheese party and hopefully a group dinner during the week. The condos are pseudo ski in/ski out using a poma lift right across the road to get you to
the main lifts. The all-inclusive trip including air, lodging, transfers, 5 of 6 day lift pass, and a great time with wonderful friends is $1675 per person. The optional ground package is $976. These prices are based on 6 people per unit. If you do not want the lift tickets deduct $352 for either price. A single supplement will be an addition of $465. The deposit for this trip will be $200 due September 1st. Full payment will be needed by December Christmas party.

The Next Happy Hours
In August, we are going to stay
with the Buckeye Lake theme & re-
turn to Papa Boo’s on Friday, Au-
gust 7th, meeting up around 6pm
(so, back to our normal time
frame). This earlier date during the
month is because we will be out of
the country for a sennight during
the middle of the month (Canada,
here we Come!) & I refuse to miss 2
of my own events during the same
summer when I’m still living in
town! So, PLEASE, come out & help us
keep Buckeye Lake alive.
For September, as the weather
starts to change on us, we are going
to go try out the newly renovated
Trout Club in Newark. Due to our
events earlier in the month, I have
changed the date (again? Why are
you always doing that?!?) to Fri-
day, September 25th at around 6:30
pm. This will be a new one for me &
probably for most of you, so lets go
see what a couple of million dollars
can do!!
& Remember, get Happy! {Hour that
is ;~}
For those who are interested in the other trips available for our members to join:

Activities committee
meeting- sat, oct 3rd Our next Activities Committee Meeting is fast approaching, so you definitely want to mark it on your calendar. Beth Ann Swick will be holding the meeting at her home on Saturday, October 3rd with a planned start of 5pm. The idea is to have the meeting early so that all involved can enjoy a potluck meal, some wine, and some fellowship after the “hard” work is done. This will be a potluck and a BYOB meet-ing, so please bring something tasty both to eat and to drink. Anyone who is interested in going some place or doing something should plan to bring all their thoughts and ideas. No ideas are off the table! So, come help plot where we are going next and what we might be doing. The Newark Ski Club only works if YOU ensure that we have something to do and somewhere to go. For those who can make it, please email either the Newsletter Editor at [email protected] or Beth Ann at [email protected] to confirm so that we can get an idea of how many people are coming. We need thoughts, ideas, and anything else you can possibly think of so that we can start planning our AMAZING ADVENTURES for the upcoming Winter season and, of course, throughout 2016!!!!
IT’S BAAAACK!!!!!!!!!!!
The Annual Halloween Party will be returning this year. You caught a break
last year, but the horror which is the McBride Mansion will be welcoming
you back for all the craven terror you can endure! You have less than three
months to prepare for the Night of American Horror Story: Freak Show. As
always, please bring a covered dish and dress appropriately. All costumes are
accepted, but do try to lean toward this year’s theme: American Horror Sto-
ry: Freak Show. Please present your self at the gate on SATURDAY, OC-
TOBER 24TH beginning around 5pm for inspection. Do you have what it
takes to endure a walk through the Freak Show? Who knows, you might just
be annexed into the Show itself! BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!
