Rationale: Leading Innovation

• After navigating the downturn, companies large and small are actively aiming for growth. Driving innovation has become a priority.

• More than ever, companies large and small need to grow through innovation.

• Yet many world-class companies with successful track records struggle to bring their big ideas to life. This is because the real innovation challenge lies beyond the idea, in the long journey from imagination to business impact.

• In five intensive days, Leading Innovation provides the necessary practical frameworks to successfully navigate the end-to-end innovation execution process.

Tuck: Thought Leadership…Exemplary Teaching

“Many companies fail because they focus too intensely

on their own innovations, and then neglect the

innovation ecosystems on which their success

depends. In our increasingly interdependent world,

winning requires more than just delivering on your own

promises. It means ensuring that a host of partners —

some visible, some hidden — deliver on their promises,

too.” – Ron Adner, Faculty Director

6

Faculty Director Ron Adner, is Professor of Business Administration

and an award-winning strategy professor at the Tuck School. His

research and teaching focus on innovation, strategy, and

entrepreneurship. His work introduces a new perspective on the

relationship among firms, customers, and the broader “innovation

ecosystems” in which they interact to create value. He is a speaker and

consultant to companies around the world and is actively engaged in

executive education.

A Week at Tuck at Dartmouth

• Set in the hills of northern New England on the Dartmouth College

campus in Hanover, New Hampshire, Tuck’s personal scale and

retreat-like learning environment is ideal for learning, reflecting and

thoughtful exploration of both business issues and leadership self-

awareness.

• Peer learning happens naturally here. A powerful component of a

Tuck experience is the opportunity to interact with faculty and with a

select group of participants from top global companies.
