Candidate Experience

Sandeeran Govender

I am interested in UCTRF and our country as much as you are. We need representation that is driven to achieve change and provide transparency. I am this person, and I aim to deliver this.

Phillip De Jager

I teach investments and appreciate the opportunity to be exposed to practice with the UCTRF. As a chair of the UCTRF my vision is for low cost, reasonable returns and member service.

Yolokazi Quwe

I am currently working at the Fees Office as a manager. I have been a Trustee of the UCTRF for the past two and half years. I have learnt a lot during this time and would like to continue with the UCTRF and bring change.

Tsatsi Ngcingwana

I have been a member of the UCTRF for circa 11 years and I have a vested interest in the UCTRF. I will ensure that I act with due care, diligence and good faith, and act with impartiality in respect of all the members and beneficiaries.

Ayanda Botha

I have been at UCT for more than 12 years. I used to service the insourced dept and I have been exposed to the needs of the members that we insourced in 2016. I have fair understanding of their needs hence I am willing to serve as a Trustee.

Judith Du Toit

Your retirement savings are critically important in order to achieve a financially secure retirement. I would like to assist as a trustee in ensuring that the UCTRF is effectively governed in support of this collective goal.

Glenn HurlowI am a member of the current board and wish to continue serving the UCTRF members to the best of my ability to ensure a favourable retirement outcome.

Gizelle Willows

My research specialises in the field of behavioural finance particularlyas it pertains to the retirement and savings decisions. My PHD analysed members of the UCTRF. Thus I have knowledge of the workings within the UCTRF and individual member behaviour.

Tiri Chinyoka

How would the raging parliamentary debate on prescribed asset affect your pension fund? As a member of the UCTRF Board of Trustees, I will ensure your pension funds are invested responsibly in your best interest according to sound government policy.

Tsebo Litabe

The Retirement Fund is generally associated with elderly people that are about to retire I would like to be part of a drive to encourage relatively younger people to start looking after their retirement investment options earlier. At the same time, I want to bring diversity to the UCTRF.

Xolisa Dhlamini

I aim to serve the members with the care and loyalty in my fiduciary role. I will draw on my 15 years of pension industry experience and 9 years of sustainable responsible investment knowledge to be a steward of member savings.

Shaun Parsons

I am a chartered accountant and an Associate Professor in the college of accounting, where I specialise in taxation. I would like to offer my skills and experience in serving as a UCTRF Trustee.

Paul Gaika

I, Paul Gaika, understand my nomination to the UCTRF board of Trustees to represent the interest of UCT employees in finding the best retirement solutions. Where all the UCT employees can retire in peace of mind knowing their years of work saving for retirement can sustain them after retirement.

Emlyn Balarin

I have 4 years experience as Trustee on the UCTRF and contribute significantly to the successful running of the fund. Being a trustee requires a substantial investment of time, but I find the work rewarding, confidant that I am contributing to the good of all workers at UCT.

Mzomhle Bixa

As a staff member who interacts with UCT staff on daily basis and is concerned about the benefits of UCT staff members during their employment and after retirement I believe I could add value as a Trustee of the UCTRF.

Margie Tainton

I started as an employee- elected Trustee in 1999. Since then I have held various roles in the UCTRF including that of Employer-nominated Trustee, Principal Officer and Interim Principal officer. I am currently an Employer-nominated Trustee and Chair of Communication committee on the UCTRF. Our mandate includes providing clear, transparent, valid and comprehensive communication delivered in a cost-effective manner. I wish to continue as a Trustee for the UCTRF and feel that my substantive role as a Director of Compensation and Benefits in HR provides for opportunities to improve and promote the UCTRF and in so doing, create continuing value for its members.

Hardy Maritz

I am a past employee-elected representative on the UCTRF board of Trustees. I hold a M.Comm (adb) degree in Financial Management from UCT and have some 20 years of experience in various financial roles. If elected as an employee trustee, I undertake to assist and support the UCTRF in any way I can, while serving in the best interest of members.

Steve Richardson

I have been a Trustee since 2002 and would like to think that experience counts. What's more I am now retired and have the time and energy to work on achieving sustainable investment returns for all us.

Karin Lehmann

I am the current chair of the S37C committee and am the only trustee with the knowledge of the law governing the allocation of death benefits.
