Visconic Demand Fan Operation

Fan Speed is controlled by theECM using the following inputs:

- Engine coolant temperature- Hydraulic oil temperature- Ambient air temperature

NOTE: The first 150 seconds are controlled by changing the “Fan Motor Current

Percentage” parameter. The last 150 seconds are controlled by changing the “FanMotor Speed” parameter.

The visconic fan clutch assembly cannot becalibrated. If a calibration is attempted with thisunit installed, an error message similar to the oneon the left will appear.

Although the “Fan Motor CurrentPercentage” or “Coolant Fan SolenoidCurrent Percentage” can be adjusted in theoverride menu, the parameter has no valueduring normal operation. The value willdefault to zero and should be ignored.

Measure the current draw between the fanspeed supply pin (5) and the fan speed ground

pin (2). This will require a DC voltage supplyof 5 volts. The current should measure
