Introduction:
In this summary I am going to tell you something more about the sort life of tropical storm
Josephine. Josephine was one of the 4 storm systems that were active at the same time. The
storm systems were: Gustav, Hanna, Ike and last but not least Josephine. Josephine was the
smallest and shortest living of these 4 storm systems. Josephine hadnt made landfall butdisappeared because of Hurricane Ike.

Arise of Josephine:
Josephine arose from a strong tropical wave from Africa. Together with this and a low-
pressure area Josephine could develop. And she did. She arose in the neighbourhood of the
Cape Verde islands. So this means, Tropical storm Josephine was a Cape Verde storm system.
But this doesnt make sense because Cape Verde storm systems are almost every time thestrongest hurricanes of a season. But Josephine was pulled out, because of hurricane Ike, he
was so strong the Jospehine was attracted by hurricane Ike, so the whole storm system fell
apart.

The green field marks show the time when Tropical Storm Josephine was at her highest
intensive peak. Her highest wind speed was 55 knots, that is an amount of over 100
kilometres.

This picture shows the wind direction and the wind speed of Tropical Storm Josephine. This
picture is made after she affected the area of Cape Verde.
As you can see there is a convection (a circling of wind around one spot). The highest
measuring of the wind speed is around the middle, and as you can see in the picture the other
wind is turning around this spot.

Rainfall:
There are no reports of rainfall, because tropical storm Josephine never made it to land. The
islands in the area where Jospehine formed, there was a little bit of rainfall, but not enough to
report. But apart from that there were no reports of damage or heavy rainfall that was caused
by Josephine. Some pictures of the rainfall that Josephine produced were taken above the sea.This pictures shows the rainfall per hour in mm. In the middle of the storm you can see the
red spots, these represent the rain wall that Josephine developed. But after she weakened, the
wall fell apart.

Appendix:
Josephine wasnt a large tropical storm, but that was caused by the other storm system that
were active at the same time. Josephine was predicted to be a hurricane, but because of the
strength that Ike had, she fell apart. Ike was the largest hurricane ever measured in the
Atlantic Ocean. Josephine couldnt develop better to become even larger or heavier.
