EDUCATIONAL CONTRIBUTIONS Course and Curriculum Development 1995–2000 Outlined a new set of upper level courses for undergraduate and graduate

students that examine topics relevant to chemical industry. The primary goal is to provide our students with the opportunity, if they so desire, to gain knowledge and skills that will make them more attractive for employment in the industrial sector.

1995–2000 Worked with Professors Don Elthon and Glenn Taylor to design and implement

a major restructuring of Chemistry 1301, Foundations of Chemistry. This course, primarily for non-science majors, now follows the outline recommended by the American Chemical Society (ACS) in its program titled Chemistry in Context. The primary objective is to educate the large and highly intelligent body of non-science majors whose attitudes and votes will determine the future roles that science and technology will play in our society. This restructuring was implemented at the beginning of the 1996 spring semester.

1993–present Developed a highly successful evolving curriculum for Chemistry 4364,

Advanced Organic Chemistry.
