Dear Friends & Benefactors,
Looking back at the 2015-2016 school year, I can truly say that it was a time of exciting growth
and meaningful change for Tri-Cities Prep. I was honored to serve as the Board of Director’s
Chair and Tri-Cities Prep President….a challenge I welcomed in the fall of 2015. With the
support of our dedicated principal, faculty, staff, and Board of Directors, we advanced the
mission of our school in many significant ways.
We started the school year with an unprecedented turnout of over 60% of our student body for
volleyball, cross-country, and football, a commentary on our outstanding coaching staff and
the diverse interests of our students.
We introduced a new organizational structure in an effort to allow our principal, Arlene Jones,
and the faculty to concentrate as much energy as possible on the day-to-day school
operations. This new concept enabled us to move the business operations of the school to an
Executive Committee made up of four Vice Presidents (all volunteers): Building & Grounds,
Mission & Education, Institutional Advancement (Development), and Finance. I am pleased to
report that this restructuring was highly effective, allowing our principal and faculty to attend
to the academic and extracurricular activities of our students, while the Executive Committee
focused on the business side of running our school. The Board was very active in providing
strategic direction and governance, especially by maintaining our fiscal health and balancing
the budget.
You will see a summary of our key accomplishments in this Annual Report, and they are truly
significant in the formation and development of our amazing Tri-Cities Prep graduates. The
forty-five members of the class of 2016 left Prep prepared for higher education and for
leadership and service.
Thank you for your support of our mission and for your involvement in forming our students to
be men and women of character, competence, and compassion. Please continue to stay
involved and help Prep move successfully toward its 20th Year….2018.
Sincerely,
Lisa Jacobs
President and Past Board Chair

Our Mission…Our Mission…Our Mission…Our Mission…
Tri-Cities Prep, a Catholic High School, is dedicated to providing the highest
quality academic instruction in a faith-centered environment. While
preparing students for higher education, we strive to form Christian leaders
spiritually, intellectually, physically, and culturally.
A high moral standard within the Judeo-Christian tradition provides the
cornerstone for assisting our students in making sound decisions for a full and
successful life.
Guided by the Gospel values of love and justice, students are challenged to
critically seek the truth and dedicate themselves to improving their
community and serving others.

2015-2016 Academic & Extracurricular Program Highlights
• Introduced a new faculty-to-student mentoring program called “Cura Personalis,” designed to
ensure increased contact between the faculty and students and parents. Faculty were assigned
groups of students to meet with weekly and mentor to enhance their academic prowess in
specific subjects, providing increased academic support where needed.
• Implemented “After School Study Halls” that were designed to serve the students with specific
academic needs and a quiet place to study. The concept was focused on increasing student skills
to raise their academic performance, highlighted by peer tutoring and one-on-one support
sessions with faculty.
• Completed our third year of the very successful “Chinese Student Program” where Prep works
with a third-party contractor to enroll several native Chinese Students each year to study for
3 or 4 years at Tri-Cities Prep. Prep provides host families from among our student body, offering
a rich cultural experience for all involved.
• Began working with Washington State University Tri-Cities to offer “College in the Classroom” at
Prep. The program will allow our students to remain on campus while receiving college credits
for select courses.
• Took second place in the Science Olympiad regional competition, and each Prep student achieved
at least one medal. They were the top scoring team from the Tri-Cities area and proceeded to
the state competition.
• Placed second at the district-level Mock Trial Competition, 19th in the YMCA Washington Mock
Trial Districts and State competitions. Several students received certificates for their
performances.
2015-2016 Campus Ministry
• Celebrated Mass of the Holy Spirit in September
• Held retreats for each grade level, including the Junior Encounter
• Hosted a Mass during Catholic Schools Week for all local Catholic schools
• Celebrated Pro-Vita Week, Stations of the Cross, and the Annual Seder Meal

Tri-Cities Prep would like to thank its many generous donors who helped support Prep’s
academic programs and other activities during the 2015-2016 fiscal year. These donations
were made to the golf tournament and annual auction, the athletic programs, the annual appeal,
and capital projects including the Ray Whitlow Memorial Athletic Complex and the St. Thomas
Aquinas Chapel. Prep was also the recipient of a number of in-kind donations. In addition,
we increased the number and amount of long-term financial commitments made by our
Tradition of Excellence Society. Finally, a number of memorial contributions were
received, and Prep was the beneficiary of several estates during the year.

Why Choose Prep? Why Choose Prep? Why Choose Prep? Why Choose Prep?
“Tri-Cities Prep helps to mold a well-rounded individual. My children have benefited from a higher level
of academics, participated in many service projects within the community and church all while learning to
be a leader within the school and the community.”
“Prep is like having a very large extended family, and I feel very blessed to have the
opportunity to be a part of it.”
“We chose Prep so that our kids would not only receive a rigorous academic education
but also experience the unique sense of family found in the Prep community.”
“This is the kind of community that goes out of its way to include everyone—
new students and old friends alike.”
“Our daughters are prepared for academic and life success
when they graduate.”
“Tri-Cities Prep was an investment that paid off! The amount of tuition we paid for our son
to attend Prep he more than received back in college scholarships and was prepared well
for college academics. “
“When people comment on what a good job I did raising my children, I'd love to take all the credit, but I can't. I had two, almost equal partners in raising my children: God and Tri-Cities Prep.”
