TREATMENT

Page 2: Treatment 2

Concept• Based around the idea of freedom/ rebellion• Parties, drugs, alcohol• Rebelling because had an argument with her parents so she is

trying to get their attention• What has led to the freedom? - Strict parents • Escapes/leaves house• The song is called Kamikaze. Kamikaze is a Japanese aircraft

loaded with explosives which makes a deliberate suicidal crash on an enemy target.

• Therefore my music video is going to end with her and her friends ending up in a park at sun rise, showing she has been out all night and then her overdosing which links to the name of the song.

• She wants to get in too deep, extreme version of partying until self destruction, she overdoses which leads to death.

Style of music video • Narrative music video - a clear story with a

beginning middle and end, often intercut with performance from the band/artist

• Tells a story through visuals and lyrics- “Take me to the party, Kami-Kamikaze, Blame it on the bus, I am never gonna get enough”

• Narrative music videos are more popular in the pop genre as it usually tells a story about love or heartbreak

• There will be an element of sexual nature in the music video as fits in with the pop music genre

What will be happening in the video?

• Beginning- Has various arguments with parents, walk out of house/escape. Close up of the girl showing who the artist is, meets up with friends.

• Middle- Rebelling, in car with head out the window, theme park, sit on the ledge of a pond and putting feet in, jumping in the pool/slide, smoking, first kiss, flares running through the fields, in club, taking shots

• End- her and her friends lying on Hampstead Heath waiting for sunrise, shows she’s been out all night, she overdoses, friends try to save her

Target Audience• 16-25 years old• Unisex • Open to a wide audience as its a pop song

therefore there’s no overt swearing for this reason• Pop songs relates to a lot of people as love is a

universal thing so open to everyone • The theme of the song can relate to that age

category as they are going to extremes to find their identity and tend to affect this age group noticeably therefore tends to be a period of peoples life where they rebel.

Page 6: Treatment 2

Characters/performers • Female, will be someone aged between

16-25 years old as our target audience are then able to relate to the music video.

• Represented as rebellious• Looks like a nice, kind and caring girl

but has a dark side.• Chilled vibe with an ‘I don’t care

attitude’• May feel angry, trapped and fed-up• Doesn’t take into account anyone

else's feelings and does what she wants

Page 7: Treatment 2

Costumes • Her clothing will be more suggestive

rather than explicit• For example she may wear a t-shirt

dress with tights like shown in the picture in the bottom right.

• Her clothes will be basic but indie. • Pop music videos tend to follow this

theme as targeted at a range of audiences therefore has to be appropriate for all ages.

• Her makeup will be quite heavy to show her rebellious and dark side.

Location Below our the locations we are planning to use in our music video:1) Hampstead Heath Fields- we chose this location

as this is a very typical place and everyone’s familiar with/knows somewhere like this

2) Karla’s house- represents a normal teenagers house

3) Fun fair/theme park- it comes across as a wild and fun place to be when drunk

4) Club/bar- typical place to go when wanting to party and will show her wild side

5) Pond/Ellies pool- jumping in shows her rebellious6) Karlas car- tennagers tend to be

learners/drive and is a big deal

Theme/colours & Lighting

• At the beginning its mostly going to be dark colours and lighting because the mood is dull as she is having an argument with her parents.

• Therefore I will either use dark colour choices or put it in black & white to portray the sense of anger.

• The middle and end will be colourful eg vibrant and summery colours and the lighting will be light, for example sunny and bright.

• This shows she’s free and can do what she wants because she’s in control of herself.

Page 10: Treatment 2

Edit/pace• Its mostly going to be fast pace, but there are

parts that are slower pace• I’m going to have fast transitions as it goes with

the upbeat pop song • By the shots and transitions being fast pace, it

allows me to show a speedy outline of the main events of her day and evening showing that it was very eventful.

• The end of the song is repeats “Kamikaze, KamiKamikaze, hey, Kami” slowing down the pace of the song
