Day 5 | Tuesday, Nov. 15, 2016 | HALONG BAY (B, L, D)

Enjoy breakfast and spend your morning cruising along Halong Bay, taking in the spectacular scenery. After lunch, return to Halong Pier for disembarkation and transfer to your hotel in Hanoi. Tonight your evening will be at leisure.

Day 6 | Wednesday, Nov. 16, 2016 | HANOI — DANANG — HOIAN (B, L, D)

After breakfast we visit the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, the traditional stilt house, Ho Chi Minh Museum, and the reserved one Pillar Pagoda. Then transfer to the airport for your short flight to Danang. You will be welcomed at the airport then transfer to Hoian.

Day 7 | Thursday, Nov. 17, 2016 | HOIAN (B, L, D)

This morning we will enjoy a morning walking tour of the quaint riverside town of Hoian, known for its eclectric architecture, tailor shops and numerous cafes. Visit Hoian Town with its low tiled houses of Chinese appearance, the Japanese covered bridge with its brightly painted temples and pagodas making it one of Vietnam’s most delightful places as well as Tan Ky Old House, the Chinese Assembly Hall and Phuc Kien Pagoda. The afternoon is free at your leisure to enjoy the beach or shopping.

Today enjoy your entire day at leisure in Hoian.

Day 9 | Saturday, Nov. 19, 2016 | HOIAN — DANANG — SAIGON (B, L, D)

After breakfast, transfer to Danang airport for your flight to Ho Chi Minh City, Saigon. Pick up on arrival and transfer to the city center for your city tour of Ho Chi Minh City including the Reunification Palace, the Notre Dame Cathedral, the Old Post Office, a lacquer-ware factory, and the bustling Chinatown with Ben Thanh Market. Overnight at your hotel in Saigon.

Today, board your transborder flight to Vietnam. Cathay Pacific flight 829 departs Toronto at 1:00 a.m. arrives Hong Kong at 6:00 a.m. connecting with Dragon Air flight 297 departs Hong Kong at 8:45 a.m. arrives Hanoi at 9:50 a.m.

Day 2 | Saturday, Nov. 12, 2016 | ARRIVE IN HANOI (D)

You are met on arrival at Noi Bai Airport, and transferred to the hotel for check in. Lunch on your own. Visit Vietnam’s first University, the thousand year old temple of literature. In the afternoon, enjoy a tour by cyclo around the Old Quarter streets to discover the local people’s life. Tonight enjoy a welcome dinner at a local restaurant.

Day 3 | Sunday, Nov. 13, 2016 | HANOI — TAM COC — HOA LU (B, L)

Transfer to Tam Coc, a boat trip on a river through “the Ha Long on land” - the quiet and peaceful landscape of rice fields surrounded by limestone formations – to visit three grottoes of Tam Coc. On the way back to Hanoi, stop at Hoa Lu, the sight of Vietnam’s capital during 10th and 11th century. Visit Dinh and Le Temples that were built in the 17th century. Tonight’s dinner is on your own.

Day 4 | Monday, Nov. 14, 2016 | HANOI — HALONG BAY (B, L, D)

After breakfast we check out and journey east to Vietnam’s greatest natural wonder, Halong Bay. Arriving in Halong at noon, we’ll board a beautiful traditional wooden junk and spend a full day and night cruising the bay’s 3,000 magnificent limestone islets. We also visit a floating village and a huge cave filled with eye-catching rock formations. In the evening when the boat is anchored in the middle of the stunning lagoon, we enjoy a wonderful seafood meal. Overnight on board.

Day 10 | Sunday, Nov. 20, 2016 | HO CHI MINH — TAY NINH — CU CHI TUNNELS (B, L)

Today travel about 70km northwest of Ho Chi Minh City to Cu Chi town. The highlight of the day is the Cu Chi Tunnels which were used as the base from which the Vietnamese mounted their operations of the Tet Offensive in 1968. The Cu Chi tunnels consist of more than 200 kilometers of underground tunnels. This main axis system has many branches connecting to underground hideouts, shelters, and entrances to other tunnels. The tunnels are between 0.5 to 1 meter wide, just enough for a person to crawl along. Lunch will be at a local restaurant. Then continue to Tay Ninh, the headquarters of Cao Dai region founded in 1926. Upon arrival we attend the fantastic mid-day Mass when the followers fill the hall wearing colored robes, a symbol of the curious combination of Confucianism, Taoism, Christianity and Buddhism. Return back to Ho Chi Minh City. Today’s dinner is on your own to explore the local cuisine.

Day 11 | Monday, Nov. 21, 2016 | HO CHI MINH — MEKONG DELTA (B, L, D)

After breakfast, you will be picked up from your hotel, then travel by road from Ho Chi Minh city to the peaceful countryside in Ben Tre. Embark a local boat on Ben Tre river – one of tributaries of Mekong river. Stop at brickwork to see how to make brick by hand. Visit the perfume coconut garden and coconut processing workshops located along the canal and enjoy some fruits & coconut juice. Continue the trip by boat through countless canals.

Afterwards enjoy a cultural tour on a bicycle and lunch at a farmer house on the riverside.

In the afternoon, enjoy a cruise along the canal back to Ben Tre, then return to Ho Chi Minh for an evening dinner cruise.

Day 12 | Tuesday, Nov. 22, 2016 | HO CHI MINH — SIEM REAP (B, L)

Free time in the morning until your departure to the airport for your flight to Siem Reap. Upon arrival in Siem Reap, you will explore the ancient Angkor City from the Southern Gate of Angkor Thom to the World Wonder of the Angkor Wat Temples. End your day with a spectacular view of the sunset from Phnom Bakheng Hill in late afternoon. Your evening is at leisure.

Day 13 | Wednesday, Nov. 23, 2016 | SIEM REAP (B, L, D)

In the morning, explore the Khmer Temples from the early Angkor period. Visit the Preah Ko, Bakong and Lolei temples, dating back from the 9th and 10th centuries. In the afternoon, continue your tour to the graceful Khmer Temple of Shiva, built in the 11th century. Return to town with a stop at the three-tiered temple hill of Pre Rup. You’ll also have a chance to see the Bantey Kdei with its rarely seen sculpted female deities, the Lake of Srah Srang, and the impressive Ta Prohm Temple, which is dramatically surrounded by the Jungle.

Day 14 | Thursday, Nov. 24, 2016 | SIEM REAP (B, L, D)

This morning travel by boat to the floating villages on Tonle Sap. Return to Siem Reap and visit the small but beautifully preserved Banteay Srei and Banteay Samre, with its intricate carving. Back in town you can see the local artisans at work creating carvings, silks and other exquisite crafts Tonight’s farewell dinner includes a show with local entertainment.

Day 15 | Friday, Nov. 25, 2016 | SIEM REAP — HONG KONG — TORONTO (B)

After breakfast transfer to the airport for your flight to Hong Kong. Dragon Air Flight 207 departs Phnom Penh at 11:30 a.m. arrives Hong Kong at 3:10 p.m. Connecting with your international Cathay Pacific Flight 826 departs Hong Kong at 6:15 p.m. and arrives in Toronto at 8:10 p.m. (same day).

We do our best to select such suppliers but exercise no control over them and cannot be held responsible for the failure of these suppliers to carry out any obligations. Any and all bookings made with these suppliers by us, for you, are subject to the terms and conditions of each and every such supplier. Supplier liability may also be limited by law, tariffs, or conditions set forth in their documentation, tickets, etc. Without limiting the generality of the foregoing, Merit and its directors, officers, employees, affiliates, successors, assigns, agents and other representatives are not responsible for any and all claims for losses, damages (whether direct, indirect, special, punitive, or other consequential damages, lost profits or opportunities) delays, illness, injuries, inconvenience, loss of enjoyment, or anxiety (whether based in contract, tort, negligence, strict liability or otherwise, and even if Merit and the Travel Service Suppliers have been advised of the possibility of damages to such party or any other party) arising from: (a) Fault or negligence or omissions on the part of the said travel service suppliers;(b) Illness, theft, strikes, mechanical problems, quarantine, governmental

intervention, weather conditions, acts of hostility or violence, and any other grounds beyond our control;

(c) Your failure to obtain passport, visas, other travel documents or inoculations (d) Your failure to advise us the name of the traveller exactly as it appears on the

passport;(e) Your failure to report on time at an airport or ground transfer facility;(f) Material damages, theft or other mysterious disappearances of your goods;(g) Personal injuries or death;(h) Force Majeure - an event(s) beyond our, or our supplier(s), reasonable control

including, but not limited to, acts of God, strikes, lockout or other labour disputes or disruptions, wars, blockades, insurrections, riots, earthquakes, weather conditions, floods or acts of restraints imposed by governmental authorities.

PRICINGAll prices are per person in Canadian dollars unless otherwise noted. GST, HST and provincial taxes are applicable on tours as noted. INCREASE IN TOUR COSTSMerit reserves the right to increase tour prices in the event of an increase in government and airport authority imposed taxes and fees, fuel and currency surcharges, supplier price increases, or any other cost increase. If the increase is greater than 7% of the tour cost, the client may cancel the booking within seven days of notification and obtain a full refund.

PAYMENT SCHEDULEA deposit of $750 per person is required at the time of booking. Full and final payment is due 90 days prior to departure.

Deposit requirements for some tours may vary. You will be advised of such cases at time of booking.

LIABILITYMerit cannot assume responsibility for any costs incurred for any travel arrangements purchased separately from the Merit tour. Merit’s responsibility shall extend only to the provisions of advice as to industry-standard or supplier recommended connections and check-in times.Provided Merit supplies such advice, they shall not be responsible for missed connections or departures, regardless of the cause.

TRAVEL PROTECTION PLAN (INSURANCE)Trip cancellation and interruption insurance, medical and hospital insurance, baggage insurance, and various additional insurances are available and HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. If you choose not to purchase insurance, you are required to sign an Insurance Waiver Form. Note that if you choose not to purchase insurance, you

are fully liable for any and all penalties imposed as stated under Cancellation Policy on this page. Please speak to your representative at the time of making reservations about insurance.

REFUNDSThe nature of travel involves risks and unpredictable weather and thus Merit cannot assure any departure or arrival times at any point of an itinerary. Your right to receive a refund is limited.

There will be no discounts or monies refunded for any missed or unused services.

Merit reserves the right to cancel the tour for any reason. Should this occur, a full refund will be made to the traveller.

CANCELLATION POLICYWhile Merit will do its utmost to minimize any penalties charged, there are irrecoverable costs associated with your tour. The following penalties will be considered the costs incurred with cancellation:(A) 90 days or more prior to departure: Loss of total deposit.(B) 89 – 60 days prior to departure: Loss of 50% of total tour cost.(C) 59 days or less prior to departure: Loss of 100% of total tour cost.

Cancellation penalties for some tours will vary and there may be additional penalties associated with the airfare. If so, these policies will be noted separately at time of booking and will prevail.

TOUR CHANGESWe reserve the right to substitute itineraries, hotels, airlines or vessels due to conditions beyond our control. In such cases we will do everything possible to ensure the locations visited, the excursions taken and the hotels offered are similar to the ones originally planned. Any change to itineraries will not result in eligibility for a refund.

REVISION FEEChanges to your tour reservation might not be possible. Should you request a change and we are able to accommodate it, you will be subject to any charges imposed by the airline or tour suppliers. In addition, we reserve the right to charge a $50 revision fee for any change made after the deposit is paid. A change in name or departure date may constitute a cancellation, and the corresponding penalties may apply.

PERSONAL DOCUMENTATIONAll passengers travelling internationally must travel with a passport. Many countries require the passport to be valid for 6 months beyond the traveller’s return date. Visas may be required for some destinations. It is the passenger’s responsibility to obtain at the passenger’s expense, all documentation required by all relevant authorities. In the event that the passenger does not possess the correct documentation, the air carrier has the right to refuse passage.

DESCRIPTIONEvery effort has been made to describe and produce the travel services and photographs as accurately as possible in the printed tour description. However we reserve the right to correct errors and we will make all reasonable efforts to inform you should any significant changes occur.

Please note that the living standards and local conditions during your tour may be different from what you are accustomed to at home.

CONSENTYour retention of tickets, reservations or bookings after issuance shall constitute your consent to the above terms.

If you encounter any concerns during your tour, please inform your local travel service provider. If the matter cannot be resolved, please inform Merit Vacations in writing upon your return.
