Therme Erding opens unique hotel complex with wave paradise

World´s largest thermal baths, Therme Erding has pampered its guests for 15 years, 365 days a year, with tropical flair, fantastic water adventures and unique spa activities. In February 2015, Therme Erding opened a new spectacular wave para-dise of 2000 m² along with the new Hotel Victory Therme Erding. now available at Munich Airport. It is quite simple: After the passport is placed on the document reader, the door to the lane opens. The camera integrated into the door compares the passport photo to the live image. The system then authorizes and validates permission to cross the border. In ad-dition to personalized border checks by Federal Police officers, four automated border control lanes are available for immigration in Terminal 1 as well as

twenty EasyPASS lanes for entry and exit in Terminal 2. Holders of ePassports from the European Union, the European Economic Area and Switzerland; or of the new German credit-card format identity cards can now use EasyPASS to enter and leave the Schengen area. Users must be at least 18 years old.

With close to 40 million travelers ar-riving and departing, Munich Airport posted another record year in 2014. Passenger traffic increased by nearly 3 percent to 39.7 million, placing Mu-nich Airport in 30th position worldwide. Moreover, the airport achieved an ex-cellent number twelve position based on total revenue in 2013.

Total revenue in 2013 amounted to $1.58 billion and was earned solely on the Munich Airport campus. One of the two largest employers on the airport campus is Munich Airport Group. To-gether with its 14 subsidiaries, Flug-hafen München GmbH is a »full-service operator«, offering services across all sectors of airport management.

Hilton expands

Seven levels and 162 new hotel rooms: the newly opened Hilton Munich Airport (former Kempinski Hotel) is undergoing a significant expansion which will add 8600 m2 of space. The Hilton Munich Airport is conveniently located within

walking distance to both airport termi-nals. Property owner Munich Airport Company will start construction of an additional wing in March 2015. It will be situated to the northeast of the hotel and connect to the existing building via walkways. But remodeling plans do not end here: the hotel’s striking lobby level will be rebuilt to accommodate a 1300 m2 state-of-the-art convention area. The opening is planned for the end of 2016.


Just a one and a half hour drive from Munich, the »Hans-Peter Porsche TraumWerk« offers a new attraction for model railway and toy enthusiasts. By establishing the new »TraumWerk« Hans-Peter Porsche, the grandson of the legendary company’s founder Prof.Dr. Ing. h.c. Ferdinand Porsche, has fulfilled his heart’s desire.

For the first time, visitors can experience this one-of-a-kind collection, set up in a space of approximately 55,000 m2.
