Flexoplate has become anintegral part of power and distributiontransformers throughout the world.

The Flexoplate Advantage The unique Flexoplate ripple designoffers clear advantages. Theextended convective surface area ofour exclusive design meansFlexoplate delivers outstanding heattransfer efficiency. In addition, theripple surface provides exceptionalstrength and rigidity, givingmeasurable reductions in vibrationand noise levels.

Flexoplate radiators are available in the widest selection of types in theindustry, including achoice of weld-on ordemountable stylesin a complete rangeof sizes.

Types Trantech radiators have beendeveloped for maximum flexibility andare available in two types: IntegralHeader (IHR) (9, 12, and 15 incheswide) and Welded Header (12 and 15inches and 520mm wide). The 520mmprovides a DIN Standard radiatorconfigured to meet North Americanrequirements. Standard center linemounting lengths range from 24 to

180 inches. Plates are formed fromcold rolled steel with vertical ripples tomaximize heat transfer surface areas.To increase oil flow and heatdissipation, the end of each plate isdesigned with a thicker oil film, slopingtoward the large open slot in theheader tube.

Features and BenefitsPlate edges are slit to width afterwelding and coined to provide arounded edge which enhances paintadhesion, precludes moistureaccumulation and inhibits corrosion.

Trantech welded header radiators are100% self-draining.

The slotted header of weldedFlexoplate radiators is heavy wall 3-1/2”, 4" or 5" O.D. steel tubingwhich provides strength for a self-supporting assembly. The area ofthe header slots is maximized toprovide a full flow of oil through the

rippled plates.

welding operation, the insides of theradiators are purged with an inert gasto eliminate weld scale.

Demountable radiators are fixtured asa completed assembly for accuratepositioning of the mounting flanges.

All Trantech radiators are availablewith a demountable option.

Trantech radiators are 100% leak tested.

IHR radiators are chemically cleanedinternally and externally, and thenpower phosphatized to enhance paintadhesion and corrosion resistance.

Welded header radiators are paintedinternally with epoxy primer to ensurecleanliness and to enhance corrosionresistance.

Typical external paint coverage willinclude an ultra durable polyesterpowder coating which meets requirements of ANSI C-57.12.28 withrespect to adhesion, salt fog, humidity,Q.U.V and Taber abrasion.

Valves Valves are designed to withstand morethan 25 psi and full vacuum. To preventinterference with the transformer andradiator, all parts are contained within thebody. The valve is designed so it can belocked in the open position. Valves arepainted ANSI 70 gray and shippedcomplete with NBR O-ring, shipping coverplate, four 3/4" x 2-3/4" grade 5 bolts, nuts and washers. Viton gaskets are available.
