Prayer Corner Prayer Corner Prayer Corner Prayer Corner But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like

a thousand years and a thousand years are like a day. 2 Peter 3:8 & Psalm 90:4

It’s been a difficult year in our church. We’ve lost much loved members,

seen many sicknesses and endured stress. We’ve had good news too, healthy

babies, renewed health and been given coping skills and great support. It

seems the end of December is a time for looking back. Can you feel His love in

all that’s happened? Can you feel His love, His comfort, His healing, His

strength and encouragement flowing through your days and nights?

My mind is spinning, I’m all confused.

I’m feeling sad and afraid and kind of angry too.

How can I be strong, when everything is going wrong?

God, give me strength and help me find my way.

Chorus: I’ve got to think, think, think

Think about the goodness of You, my God,

Because I know, know, know, no matter how I feel,

I’ve got to trust in You, I wanna trust in You, trust in You.

I will trust in You right now, no matter how I feel right now.

I will trust in You!

This song, which our kids learned in VBS last summer, kind of sums up

how we all feel from time to time. It is then that we need to deliberately and

purposefully put our trust in God for moment to moment strength. (Psalm 28:6-

9; 73:25 & 26; 1 Corinthians 1:25; Ephesians 1:17-23; Philippians 4:14) He will

give it freely and without limits for He IS our strength now and in what ever

comes. Praise Him for His generous love and care for you and your loved ones.

We are truly blessed!

So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God.

I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right

hand. Isaiah 41:10

Draw near. Come boldly. Come often.

Do you have old cell-phones? How about used Ink Cartridges? They can be re-cycled and the proceeds will go to Hope Centre. There is a light green box in the foyer, near the mailboxes. Feel free to deposit your recyclables there for a good cause!

Lost & Found: At the Candle Light Service a pearl earring was found. It

is on the bulletin board in the church office, if it belongs to you. A charm from a necklace or bracelet was found last week. The charm is also hanging on the bulletin board in the office.

Important: It has come to the attention of the Administration

Committee that we have people among our congregation that have severe peanut/nut allergies. We ask that we all make ourselves conscious to this fact when we are planning on bringing snacks and baking to the Church, including the peanut butter on toast that you may be ingesting prior to the service. Please practice thorough hand washing, and let's all be aware of the severity and repercussions of our actions. Thank You for your understanding in this matter, it is greatly appreciated. -The Administration Committee

Curling Anyone?! The Social Committee is asking that you mark

Saturday, February 2nd on your calendars as the "TCRC Curling Night". Just like last year, we'll gather in the early evening at the Springfield Curling Club (Dugald) and have a fun night of curling and games. If you didn't come last year, please consider joining in the fun, it really is a great night. More details in the coming weeks!

Hope Centre Ministries and Indian Family Centre would like to thank

you for the generous support you provided for the Christmas Ham-pers. It is a blessing to have so many people contribute in different ways. We were able to assemble our goal of 100 bags. What a joy it is to work and serve together!

Sunday School News: A huge thank-you to all of the congregation for

helping our homeless have warm feet. We collected 112 pairs of socks. Just a schedule change: Sunday School will resume January 13,2013, not as previously noted. Also Grade 5 & 6 Bible Study will start Jan. 13th.

Our Church Family

Family Matters:

Wilma DeVos underwent knee surgery and covets your prayers for a full recovery.

Allan Tiel's sister Fran had surgery for breast cancer. She is preparing for chemo and radiation. Please remember Fran and her family in prayer.

We praise God with Andy DeJong that he has recovered from pneumonia, and is settling into his new home.

We lift up Janna Alkema during this Christmas season, as she deals with treatments for cancer.

Please remember to pray for Henry Kunkel and Frances this Christmas season, as Henry is at home dealing with ALS.

Not only have we lost members of our congregation this past year, but several members of our congregation have lost loved ones as well. Because we think so much of family during this season, it is particularly difficult for those families that have lost loved ones. Please remember these families in prayer during this holiday time.

We pray for those who are travelling to visit loved ones during this holiday season.

Birthday Congratulations: Susan Smid on January 7th

Calling Committee Update:

The Calling Committee has been diligently working to find the man that God intends for us to have as the next Pastor for TCRC. To date we have had many meetings, mostly on a monthly basis, and have searched out and had contact with upwards of thirty possible candidates for our position. This process has led to conference calls with six different Pastors with some of them generating enough interest from both parties to warrant a second call. At present, we have two men that we are in communication with and which we are seeking the Lord’s leading on. In the New Year, we will be deciding the next steps that will be taken and whether or not these two men will be part of those next steps, or whether we will continue to search for additional candidates. We ask that the congregation would continue to pray for our efforts in this task and ask the Lord to guide us in our work. Calvin Vaags, Chair

Dear Congregation: Thank you for all the well wishes extended to me on my 80th birthday! Also I was overwhelmed by all the concern shown in regard to my knee surgery. Thank you for the prayers, cards and telephone calls. It’s a blessing to be part of a caring congregation. Blessed New Year to all! - Wilma DeVos

I would like to thank everyone for the lovely cards I received this year. I really appreciate your thoughtfulness. I wish everyone a blessed Christmas Season and God’s richest blessings for 2013. - Jannette Bomhoff
