    The CPPFES2020A unit of competence reflects the role of a fire service technician or a person who has been elected by their organisation who is made responsible for routinely inspecting and testing fire extinguishers and fire blankets on customers’ premises. This inspection or ‘service type’ directly relates to the six monthly and yearly service schedules. This particular course is tailored towards individuals who wish to maintain or gain employment within their workplace as a fire service equipment officer. Our key clients for this course are individuals who are currently employed by an organisation and who are required to gain this unit of competence in order to perform the duties of fire extinguisher and fire blankets inspection and testing. This client group may include:

    Simulated Environment A simulated environment will be achieved by creating a real-life working environment where these skills and knowledge would be performed, with all the relevant equipment and resources of that working environment. Participants will be faced with scenarios that a fire equipment service officer would normally encounter in their employment within this type of job role or encounter through day to day operations of their employment. Examples of simulated scenarios can be found in the Master Assessment tool and have been approved by Industry through industry consultation.

    take place on the clients’ premises. The theory component of this course will be conducted in a room suitable for a classroom environment with the practical component delivered on site or simulated onsite using the clients workshop. The ITS training manager will perform a site inspection using the ITS worksite inspection checklist prior to delivery and/or assessment.

    Comments: Note: The delivery methods that will be implemented for this qualification have been recommended by industry itself and are in line with the CPP07 training package and the CPPFES2020A unit of competence. Delivery and assessment of the above unit is in line with current commercial practices.

    This course will be delivered as a full time course. Students will have 2 days in which to complete this course as indicated on the course timetable. This will include all face to face delivery and assessment requirements. During this period, our trainer will ensure students have access to all necessary materials and assessment resources. We have identified points in time when student participation is required. This is detailed in the delivery and assessment plan and will ensure to maximum the learning and retention process. Student involvement is very effective in a group learning environment and helps with ensuring that the class, as a whole, has achieved a similar level of knowledge.     Content Removed… Continuous Improvement of Course Materials Trainer feedback, student evaluations, and going industry engagement will be sort and considered in modifying and improving this course. We have implemented methods where each student and trainer has the ability to provide feedback online at any point throughout the course. Students are requested and encouraged to complete an online (or hard copy) course evaluation on the completion of the course. Trainers are required to complete a teacher evaluation (known to ITS P/L as the Daily Progress Report) at the end of each day.

    2.5 Student Support In accordance with the standards for RTOs 2015 and VRQA Guidelines, ITS:

    Content Removed… General Information Where possible, each topic will be linked to day-to-day practical scenarios to assist the students with reflecting and appreciating the relevance of the information taught to real world situations. The design of each session will include subject matter that is tangible, and relates to the real life situations for the environment in which target group is intended. Requirements for successful completion of this course This program will be delivered on a full time basis over a two (2) day period. Please refer to Section 2.2.1

    Volume of Learning as well as the delivery and assessment plan and the course timetable for further detailed information.

    Participants are expected to attend all scheduled tuition sessions. Each participant will be required to submit evidence for each unit of competence as outlined in the assessment

    tools.

    ITS P/L staff will be available to all participants during the course which includes scheduled class times and self-paced study periods when required. Support Options:

    Participants that require extra support will have the option of requesting trainer-led assistance after each session. Refer to the course timetable or delivery and assessment plan for this unit.

    Entry Requirements (Academic and Non-Academic) This course together with the CPP training package does not mandate any entry requirements into this unit. Industry consultation together with the unit of competence and assessment requirements recommend that a participants LLN performance indicators should be at a level 3 for this unit.

    In order for ITS Pty Ltd to successfully delivery and assess this unit of competence, participants will need to meet the following requirements.

    6. Human Resources The information below summarises the requirements for trainers and assessors. 6.1 Training Package Requirements for Staff Assessors must satisfy the NVR/AQTF mandatory competency requirements for assessors.
