Committee information is below:

Christmas is almost upon us and this is the Club’s busiest time of the year. We have strong Christmas function bookings, but still have availability to accommodate a few more – if you haven’t planned a Christmas function yet I encourage you to consider the Club for your Christmas party and tell your friend or employers to support our great Club. We offer discounts to members as always, details of our Christmas party packages are on page 4.

We are always looking at improving efficiencies and patronage for the Club and I’d like to thank the new Committee and Staff for their support in implementing changes which we believe will achieve greater long term profitability and viability of the Club.

A few of the changes we intend to make include:• A new illuminated sign with changeable LED section will be installed at the entrance of the Club to make it more inviting and promote Club specials and events.• A “wrap” around the external hard stand fence will also be installed with pictures of the deck, ramp, restaurant, bistro, gaming and function facilities. The advice we have received is that the Club is uninviting from the street. These should go some way in addressing this and is

also cost effective.• The boat ramp surface has been an issue for some time and a grant application has been submitted for approx. $76k which will cover the cost of replacing the ramp. We should have an answer within a month or so. Thanks to Rear Commodore Guy Houghton and Committee member Simona Ball for their work on preparing the application.• Our Vice Commodore, Brad Bell has been in negotiations with the Jet Ski Association of Australia who are keen to become more involved with the Club bringing valuable new members and income to the Club. A review of the existing hard stand arrangements to accommodate Jet Ski storage is also a current project.• Committee member, Anton Prange is now the new Haven Rep and we thank him for taking on this role. The lease from GCCC has been signed off and now only require a brief report on improvements we intend to make over the coming years.• We are looking at a “glossy”, professionally produced “Club Brochure” promoting all that the Club has to offer – similar to that of RQYS. This will be produced free of charge and is due in the coming months with opportunities for members and local businesses to advertise communicated in due course.

We have a wonderful Club which is a great secret to many – we plan on changing that. We need more members to use more than just the ramps, we need them to wine and dine here, bringing friends and family. On that note I hope that all of you will visit the Club and wish you a peaceful and prosperous Christmas and New Year.

Best wishes, Gerald GrubwinklerCommodore
