EXAMPLES OF PROJECTS

Penitential cross Penitential cross

Students contacted the Provincial Monuments’ Conservator. The are trying to add the object to the relicts register, and thus provide it the legal protection.

Young people from Szprotawa took care of penitential cross. In medieval times such crosses were built by murders on crime scenes to compensate their guilt. This is the only cross in the area. Some marks of a sword which could be a murder weapon werere found on the cross.

EXAMPLES OF PROJECTS

Searching for multicultural traces of Zgierz – JewsSearching for multicultural traces of Zgierz – Jews

with that issue. The youth organized a rally through the trails connected with Jews in Zgierz. Moreover, they adopted a monument – the Jewish cementary. But what they enjoyed most was preparing exhibitions and talking with people about the past events.

The main aim of the project, prepared by Gimnazjum from Zgierz, is to disseminate information about Jews who had lived there before II World War. Jews brought so much into the local and national traditions and students are convinced that they should deal
