AN EVENING WITH THE HUMOUR OF BOBNEWHART AND TOM LEHRERAt the Tower Theatre Well known jazz and rock n roll piano/vocalist Peter Gill and highly regarded fringe actor Andrew Meller have joined forces to present a fabulous, new, 90 minute show dedicated to the satirical humour of American comic legends Bob Newhart and Tom Lehrer’.

Originating from the 1950s and 1960s, audiences will once again be rolling around with laughter as they are reminded of Newhart’s ‘Driving Instructor’, ‘Introducing Tobacco to Civilisa-tion’ and ‘USS Codsh’; and Lehrer’s sharp witted songs ‘Poison-ing Pigeons in the Park’, ‘I Got it from Agnes’ and ‘The Maso-chism Tango’.

This is a wonderfully entertaining and light-hearted evening of wit suitable for all of those with at least a modicum of a sense of humour.

Youth Section

Nothing to do with the recent Government ideas but some-thing that the Executive Committee has been concerned with for sometime, and that is the supervision of the Sunday evening youth section meetings. In spite of considerable eorts by the YS committee and by requests in the Tower News, the support for supervising the younger members of the Society is very low. Unfortunately unless sucient volun-teers come forward, the youth section activity will have to be revisited.

Times have changed since the Youth Section started at the Little Theatre and it is imperative that members and parents feel that the group is working in a secure and safe environ-ment. Therefore if members are willing to be placed on a rota to attend the Tower Theatre once every 3 months or so, on a Sunday from 7.00pm to 9.30pm, please contact Anne Mortimer on 01303 873811. It would be a great pity if the Youth Section were to cease functioning after so many years.
