Cancun is Mexico’s most important tourist destination and one of the world’s most well known resorts. With warm white sand beach-es, crystal indigo seas, world-class hotels, restaurants and nightlife. Cancun has it all, whether you are looking for a laidback beach bum or ultra chic vacations. The Tourist Zone is a narrow island lined up with hotels and beachfront condominiums. Laguna Nichupté serves as home to numerous marinas, water front restaurants, shopping malls, a couple of golf courses, a few islands and inlets. There is an area near the center of all this which is known as the “Party Zone” which is home to many of the areas nightclubs and discos. The tour-ist zone also has some minor archeological sites, the best example of which is Ruinas El Rey.

The ancient Mayan capital of Chichen –Itza is an archaeological zone in the eastern region of the state of Yucatan. Here you can find numer-ous temples, buildings and important structures such as the “Juego de Pelota”, the largest ball court in Mesoamerica. At Chichen-Itza you can also visit “El Castillo” one of the 7 wonders of the World, the spectacular “Cenote Sagrado”, a large sinkhole that measures 60 meters (198 feet) in diameter. Many fantastic treasures have been found at the sinkhole: rings, necklaces, gold and jade objects, as well as the bones of young women that were thrown into the water as an offering to Chaac, the Mayan rain god.

It is the third largest city in Quintana Roo, after Cancun and Che-tumal. Playa is rapidly growing in population and becoming a cosmopolitan city. Many people realized it was a nice place to relax away from the crowds of Cancun but with the same quality beaches and turquoise waters. Tourist activity centers on Quinta Avenida, or Fifth Avenue, a pedestrian walkway located just one or two blocks inland from the beach, which is lined with boutique hotels, shops, bars, and restaurants. Making it a favorite spot for meeting, after you’ve enjoyed the beach and jungle trips, with a nightlife that goes on until dawn.
Real life scenarios
Is a Maya civilization archeological park by the sea that features unique activities, you have fun while discovering the natural and cul-tural richness of Mexico. The site was occupied by the pre-Colum-bian Maya and functioned as a port for navigation and an important Maya trading center. Some of the site’s original structures are con-tained within a modern-day tourism development. Here you can find underground rivers, a butterfly pavilion, a beach, and inlets. It is a place to spend the entire day and at night experience Xcaret’s one of a kind celebration “Xcaret Mexico Espectacular”. A trip through Xcaret leaves visitors feeling that they have experienced biological life in its natural state and come into intimate contact with the mys-terious and magical Maya world.

Is the largest natural open sea aquarium in the world, since more than 70 different water species interact. The city of Tulum is the only known archaeological site located by the sea. Over sixty well-preserved structures can be observed within three massive walls that surround the site at the top of a cliff, this is what gives Tulum its name meaning, “walled city”. This site served as a trading port and was the place where Spaniards arrived. There is a small beach beside the main temple, ideal for a swim while gaz-ing up at the Mayan architecture. The hotel zone of Tulum is yet an-other delight for those in search of peace and tranquility. Cabañas and charming eco-hotels are sprinkled along this beautiful stretch of beach.
