A typical installation will be configured similar to the diagram below;
Head End Equipment
A switch must be located on each floor or ward of the hospital. The switches must be housed in communications cabinets. The hospital
is responsible for providing cabling from the switches to the bedside.
Floor Switches
Touch screen terminals are located at each bedside. Each terminal is identical ensuring ease of management and support.The terminal and arms are coated with “Novaron” which reduces the potential for infections. The touch screen itself is flat and “ridge free” enabling it to be easily wi ped and sterilised in line with hospital infection control policies.The terminal is supported by an arm assembly that includes internal cabling. The arms have a clutch mechanism to ensure a soft landing
if too much weight is applied. With potential of a c eiling, pole or wall mount, the arms can be installed in all physical situations easily. They fold away easily into a variety of positions ensuring that they do not get in the way during a medical emergency.Telephone handsets are attached to the screen. PECO softphone is compatible with IP and analogue phones. It has accreditation to work with Cisco Call Manager.
