Leaders Bromsgrove Sporting maintained their single point advantage at the top of the table following a 3-0 victory

at Shawbury United. Richard Gregory scored twice, a goal either side of half-time, to see Bromsgrove home. 2nd

placed Coleshill Town had to come from behind to beat Lye Town 3-1 at Pack meadow. Lye took the lead in the 4th

minute from Sam Tye but two goals from Reece Leek and another from Matt Gardener ensure the Colemen stay in

2nd place. 3rd placed Sporting Khalsa left it very late to clinch all 3 points at Loughborough University. A direct free-

kick from Mykel Beckley in the last minute, was the only goal of the game. 4th placed Worcester City scored three

second half goals to see off the challenge of Coventry United. Alex Tomkinson opened the scoring just after half-

time followed quickly by the first of a double for Dave Reynolds. Highgate United are 5th and a serious challenge for

promotion. They twice came from behind to beat Westfields 3-2 at Allpay Park with Arron Brown scoring twice. Two

goals from Lee Fell weren’t enough to earn South Normanton Athletic all 3 points at Long Eaton United as the game

ended 2-2. Stourport Swifts moved 9 points clear of the relegation zone and added to the pressure on Haughmond

as they won 2-0 at The Sports Village. Heanor Town and Boldmere St Michaels shared the spoils in a 1-1 draw at The

Town Ground, Ryan Nesbitt scoring for The Mikes with Niall Mather bagging the equaliser for The Lions. Quorn and

Rugby Town served up an entertaining game at Farley Way with the home side winning 3-2. Ruben Wiggins-Thomas

scored twice for Rugby but George Bowerman’s second, 2 minutes from time earned the win for Quorn.

Coleshill Town returned to the top of the table following an action packed 3-1 win at Sporting Khalsa. The home side

were in front after 10 minutes through Jak Jeys but The Colemen equalised before half-time through Matt Gardener.

minutes left when three players were red carded after a melee near the half-way line, two for Khalsa and one for

Coleshill. Highgate United strengthened their claims for promotion with an emphatic 6-0 win over Westfields at the

Coppice with James Wilcock scoring twice. Rocester remain at the foot of the table as they were beaten 2-1 by

Shepshed Dynamo at Hillsfield. An own goal from Adam Robinson gave Stourport Swifts all three points at home to

AFC Wulfrunians.

Worcester City at The Town Ground. Mark Smith was sent off for Worcester in the 88th minute. South Normanton

Premier Division

With leaders Coleshill Town not in action. Bromsgrove Sporting can return to the top if they can beat AFC

Wulfrunians at The Victoria Ground. Sporting Khalsa will be hoping to bounce back from Tuesday’s home defeat at

the hands of the leaders when they welcome Long Eaton United to the CKW Stadium. There is a big promotion

battle at Sphinx Drive where Coventry Sphinx, on a poor run of results but still in 6th place, take on fellow promotion

chasers Worcester City. Highgate United are flying at the moment and they have pushed themselves right into the

promotion mix. They welcome 7th placed Rugby Town to The Coppice in what promises to be an excellent game of

football. Rocester are 10 points adrift of safety and need to start picking up wins if they are to avoid relegation. They

welcome mid-table Coventry United to Hillsfield with the Red & Greens not in the bet of form. A couple of wins in

the last 7 days has lifted Stourport Swifts to 16th in the table. They are in for another tense encounter this week as

Shawbury United visit Walshes Meadow with the visitors desperate for points in their bid to avoid the drop.

Shepshed Dynamo host another of the sides battling to avoid relegation, South Normanton Athletic. Shepshed have

been consistently in the top half of the table all season while The Shiners have found results difficult to come by in

their first season in the MFL. Westfields have suffered 5 defeats in their last 7 league games and they travel to Lye

Town who have lost 7 out of their last 9. Boldmere St Michaels are one of the form sides in the division and they

travel to Loughborough University with both sides eager to put points on the table to stay clear of the bottom three.

There should be no shortage of goals at Farley Way when Quorn entertain Heanor Town. Quorn won the reverse

fixture 4-1 and have won 6 of their last 7 games at home.

Division 1

A couple of huge games at the top of the table this week. 2nd placed Atherstone Town welcome 4th placed Leicester

Road to the Mark Webster Community Stadium. The Adders are in fine goal scoring form and come into the game on

the back of a 4-0 cup victory at Studley. The Road lost at home to Ilkeston Town on Tuesday and it is a must win

game for both sides if they are to put any pressure on the leaders. Hinckley AFC in 5th welcome 3rd placed Ilkeston

Town to St Johns Park in front of what should be the biggest crowd of the day. Ilkeston won the reverse fixture at

The New Manor Ground 4-1, but this should be a whole lot closer. Leaders Walsall Wood need just two goals to

make it a century of league goals for the season. They travel to mid-table Coventry Copsewood who had a

convincing 4-0 cup win in midweek. Two of the division’s in-form sides meet at Townsend Meadow with Racing Club

Warwick at home to Littleton. The Racers have games in hand and could yet feature in the promotion battle. Bottom

club Coventry Alvis’ position is looking more and more bleak and nothing short of a win at home to Studley will be

enough to give them any encouragement for the battle ahead. Bolehall Swifts are in the relegation zone on goal

difference and they travel the short distance to Heath Hayes who are only 7 points ahead of them in the league

table. Stafford Town sit one place ahead of Bolehall and they travel to Paget Rangers who are aiming for a top 8

finish. Brocton are 1 point and 1 place above Stafford and they welcome Staffordshire rivals Lichfield City to

Silkmore Lane. 16th meets 18th at The Pingles Stadium with Nuneaton Griff hosting Cadbury Athletic. Both sides are

in need of points at the bottom of the table and that should make for a good spectacle. Heather St Johns are

currently just outside the top 8 and they travel to Pack Meadow to face Chelmsley Town. This promises to be a goal

filled afternoon particularly as Heather have a number of players that plied their trade at Pack Meadow last season.

Division 2

Game of the day sees 3rd placed Montpellier welcoming 2nd placed Hampton to The Beehive. Both sides have

maintained some pressure on the leaders and with a 2nd promotion slot up for grabs, this takes on greater

importance. Smithswood Firs finally get back to league action when they welcome Coton Green to The Glades. Both

sides are in false positions in the table with 20 and 18 games to play respectively. The bottom two meet at the ML

Safety Stadium with Pelsall Villa 7 points adrift of Barnt Green Spartak. A win for Barnt Green could see them climb

5 places such is the battle at the foot of the table. Redditch Borough climbed out of the bottom two last week and

they will be hoping for back to back wins when they entertain 4th placed Northfield Town. Fairfield Villa have won

their last 5 games in all competitions and they have climbed above visitors Earlswood Town in recent weeks. 6th

placed Knowle welcome lowly Moors Academy to the Robins’ Nest with Moors desperate for points to avoid

relegation back to Division 3.

Division 3

Game of the day sees 2nd placed Bartestree hosting 3rd placed Central Ajax in a game that could have a big say in

who gets the second promotion slot. Ajax have 6 games in hand on their hosts and are unbeaten in the league while

Bartestree have shown indifferent form since the start of December. Runaway leaders GNP Sports welcome

Birmingham Tigers to the Coventry Athletics track with the home side in great goal scoring form, 19 in the last 4

games. AFC Solihull have slipped to 4th picking up a solitary point in their last three games. They welcome in-form

Boldmere Sports & Social Falcons to Tudor Grange, a win for the visitors would see them swap places. Bottom club

Leamington Hibernian welcome 13th placed Continental Star to Cubbington with the opportunity to pick up a rare

double after victory at The Hub earlier in the season. 2nd bottom Castle Vale Town travel to CT Shush, the reverse

fixture ending as a 2-2 draw. Inkberrow have been banging in the goals in recent weeks with leading scorer Nathan

Davies on 31. They entertain Enville Athletic who pushed the leaders GNP Sports close last weekend.

Les James Challenge Cup Quarter-Final

Division 3 FC Stratford welcome Division 2 leaders and promotion favourites NKF Burbage to Knights Lane with a

home semi-final against Smithswood Firs on offer to the winners. NKF Burbage have carried on where they left off

last season when winning the Division 3 title and will start as firm favourites.

Challenge Vase Semi-Final

Alcester Town and Coventrians sit in 7th and 8th places in Division 3 and they meet at Old Stratford Road with a place

in the final against GNP Sports up for grabs. Coventrians won the league game between the two sides played at

Holbrooks Park but current form would point to an Alcester victory.
