CONTROL PANEL DESCRIPTION

Water Level Indicator

• The set water level indicator isflashing when the water has beensupplied and it will light up oncethe water is at the set level.

Automatic Mode• The water level is set linearly by adjust-

ing to the washing volume. If the waterlevel is assigned at the point with noparticular indication, then the nearestlevel will light up.

• If there is some water in the basketbefore the operation, the indicator at thehighest level will light up.

Setting the button• Press the button to choose the

water level. The indicator at the higherwater level will light up.

• While the water is flowing into thebasket, the indicator at "WATER LEVEL"will light off.

• The current washing process blinksand the remaining process lights up.

• When power is turned on and acourse is selected, the washing time,the number of rinsing cycles and thespinning time are displayed.

HOW TO OPERATEPreparation

1 Set drainage hose for drain.

2 Set the water supply hose correctly.

3 Turn the water faucet on.• Make sure that there are no sign of water leakage at water tap or inlet

valve.

4 Connect the power plug.

"REGULAR" "HEAVY WASH" "HEAVY RINSE" "SOAK"

"REGULAR" cycleWater lavel, water current and time are auto-matically selected according to the quantity andtype of laundry detected automatically.Put the laundry evenly and confirmly.If it is not, the lower water level water may be set.

"HEAVY WASH" cycleIt is especially for heavy soiled clothes.It washes with stronger water current

"HEAVY RINSE" cycleBy washing in combination with the"REGULAR" course, the number of times forrinsing increases by one turn. When "HEAVYRINSE: maximum" is chosen, this mode ismemorized. "HEAVY RINSE" illuminates byturning on the switch from next time.

• "HEAVY RINSE" provides water supply forthree times. Rinsing process is displayedby all the lamps illuminating; 1 TIME,2 TIMES and OVER FLOW

"SOAK" cycleThis method is used to wash clothing whicheasily absorbs stain and clothes withnoticeable stains.• The time requirement is 1hour,2 ,3hours .• Rinsing is set to "OVERFLOW RINSE".

∗ If you add the laundry during washing, be sure to press button.

After stopping the basket, put the laundry in it.∗ If the CHILD PROOF mode is set to ON, and the lid is opened while the machine is in operation, the buzzer beeps and the

CHILD PROOF indicator flashes then the machine starts draining water.

1 Turn the POWER on.• "REGULAR" and "CONDENSED BUBBLE" cycles will be selected

automatically.

CONDENSED BUBBLEThe washer starts flowing water at the low level to absorb the concentrated detergent into the laundry in order to remove the dirt efficiently.

2 Turn the POWER on.• The "REGULAR" lamp will light up.

3 Put the laundry in the basket.• In case of selecting "SUPER SPIN DRY" cycle, please see page 8 for

details.

4 Press the button to select "REGULAR" "HEAVY WASH" "HEAVYRINSE" "SOAK".

5 Press button.

• The pulsator automatically detects the laundry amount, and indicatesthe amount of concentrated detergent suitable for the laundry amount.

6 Put in the detergent into detergent dispenser according to

WASHING OF BLANKET

HOW TO OPERATE

1 Turn the POWER on.

2 Press the button and select

"BLANKET".

3 Pour the liquid detergent in the washbasket.

4 Put a large item placed in the blanketwashing net in the washing basket.

5 Close the lid and press the

button.

Take the blanket out after washingcompleted.• Open the blanket net fastener and put at the

center of the blanket. Then take out the blanketfrom net.

• If the blanket will not go into washing net because of fiber length ofthickness, it can not be washed.

Folding blankets• Remove waste or thread from blanket.• Fold the blanket in six lengthwise.

Fold it once again the same way.

Insert a blanket to the net• Roll up the blanket.• Roll the blanket up loosely except

Mayer type blanket.• Place the blanket into the blanket net

hem-side first, and close the fastener.

Washing period may become longer with drainagecondition.

PRESET MODEHow to use preset mode

TO SET/RESET PRESET MODE• Turn the POWER off when you want to

delete memory. If you wish to changepreset time, turn the POWER off. And then setto new preset time.

TO CONFIRM PRESET TIME• Display preset time when you open the lid or

press the PRESET button.• The finished times for the preset and the

actual times are different because of thewater pressure and the drainage condition.

1 Turn the POWER on.�Put the laundry in the basket and select your favorite cycle or water level.

Set the custom wash cycle.

2 Press the PRESET button to preset the time.• The displayed time can be changed from 2 to 12 hours by increasing

1 hour per press.

3 Press the button.

• Check if the faucet is on.

4 Put the detergent according to the detergent guide and then close thelid.

Pull the detergent case, then placethe detergent evenly in the case.Then shut the case.

SUPER SPIN DRY (TUB DRY)Select "SUPER SPIN DRY" from the(WASH, RINSE, SPIN) cycle.

to the following guide:If you would like to shorten the time of drying clothesin the room: 45 minIf you would like to almost dry the synthetic clothes: 90 min

■ The clothes which cannot be performed spindrying

• "SUPER SPIN DRY" program will use a long timeto spin with high speed. Please do not spin thefollowing clothes:

• Easily color bleeding clothes• Easily wrinkled clothes (e.g. blouse, 100% cottons,

or shirts)• Easily transformable clothes• Waterproofed clothes

When using only "SUPER SPIN DRY" cycleWhen using "TUB DRY" cycle

■ When using "TUB DRY"After using "SUPER SPIN DRY" for 30 minutes, youcan remove all the drops of water left in the basket toprotect the bacteria.Please perform tub drying once a week.• Do not put the laundry during the spin cycle.

CAUTION• The amount of bacteria in the basket is less or much

up to the operation of the washer.• If there is bacteria in the basket once, it cannot easily

removed by using "TUB DRY". So you should usuallyuse "TUB DRY" cycle.

1 Turn the POWER on and put the laundry in the basket.

2 Press the button to select the program.

• At the set of "BLANKET" "TUB CLEANING" and"SOAK" without "SPIN" cycle, you cannot select"SUPER SPIN DRY".

3 Press the button and select the desired time.

• The "SUPER SPIN DRY" indicator will light on andthe "9 MIN" spinning time will display.

4 Press the button.

• The pulsator will operate before the water is let intothe basket. The washer will estimate the amount oflaundry and display the detergent amount (whilethe lid is open).

5 Put the detergent as the display and close the lid.• If the lid is open during the operation, the washer

will stop before washing and spinning.

After the operation: the buzzer will beep when the washercompletes the operation.

• Turn off the faucet and clean the lint collector.

1 Turn the POWER on.

2 Put the laundry in the basket.• Unfold the laundry before putting it in the basket to

prevent the roll of the laundry.• Please do not put the laundry in the basket during the

"TUB DRY" operation.

3 After pressing the button, press the

button to select the time.• The "SUPER SPIN DRY" and "9 MIN" lamps will light up.• Please set the time at 30 minutes if you would like to

select "TUB DRY" cycle.

4 Close the lid and press the button.

After the end of operation, there will be a beep.

CUSTOM WASH CYCLESAt first, the value for each cycle is the standardsetting. The user can change the time of washing, ofrinsing and of spinning on every cycle by pressingthe buttons. The cycle can be set as you desire, e.g.spin only, reuse the washed water/detergent.

• When the washer start to operate from "RINSE", thewater level will be at the highest.

CHILD PROOF MODE (if you have small children)CHILD PROOF mode

This model is equipped with CHILD PROOF mode. After this mode is set to ON, the washer will alarm if the lid is opened duringthe operation. If you find the accident such as children’s falling into the wash tub, please take necessary safety actionurgently.If there are small children who require attention, set this mode ON.

WARNING: Pay attention to small children. Do not leave the lid open. Do not leave the washer filled with water. Never allowchildren to look into the basket or play around the washer. Do not place the stand or box etc. near the washer.

HOW TO USE CHILD PROOF MODE

The childproof lock (child safetyequipment) considers the case in whicha child falls into the wash basket byaccident. This CHILD PROOF functiongives an alarming noise about the trouble,ceases operation and drains water.

When the buzzer makes a noise, open thelid and check the condition inside.

The operation of the CHILD PROOF mode• If the lid is open during the operation in the CHILD

PROOF mode, the buzzer will sound and operationwill stop. Subsequently if that state persists about 5seconds, it will be detected as an alarm and thewater will be drained. The buzzer will continuesounding, unless the lid is close within 5 seconds,or after alarm detection, unless power is turned offor the CHILD PROOF mode is canceled.

• If the machine is started with the lid open, thewater will be supplied for a while. When waterreaches a certain level; however, the buzzer willsound and then after about 5 seconds, the CHILDPROOF mode will work.

Setting the CHILD PROOF modePress the button, then the washing machine begins

operating, follow the instruction below:

Hold down the button, press the button once again.

A buzzer will sound and theCHILD PROOF mode indicatorwill be activated.

Once the CHILD PROOF mode is set, it is stored in memory.

Canceling the CHILD PROOF mode

Hold down the button, press the button.

A buzzer will sound and theCHILD PROOF mode indicatorwill be canceled.

Once the CHILD PROOF mode can be canceled even during theoperation.

Adding Laundry of Detergent during theCHILD PROOF modeOpen the lid and then after adding laundry or detergent quicklywith the buzzer sound, close the lid.If the lid remains open, draining will start after about 5 seconds.• The washing machine will not operate if the lid is close after the

elapse of 5 seconds. In such case, cancel the CHILD PROOF modeor turn the POWER off. Then set the CHILD PROOF mode onceagain.

If the sounding buzzer is disturbing, cancel the CHILD PROOFmode. Then after opening the lid, add laundry or detergent, closethe lid and set the CHILD PROOF mode once again.• Remember to reset the CHILD PROOF mode after the cancellation.

When using liquid detergent and bleachCarefully read the directions given in the manual forthe liquid detergent and bleaching agent and use themcorrectly.

Liquid detergents andliquid bleachesLoad the liquid detergent andthe bleaching agent directly intothe wash basket dissolving bothlittle by little using the runningwater for washing. Fortimer-reserved washing, insertboth into the dispenser.

Powder bleaching agent• Load the bleaching agent directly into the wash basket

dissolving the bleach little by little using the running waterto be for washing.

In case of reserving washing, pour the bleach into thepowder detergent part of the "powder detergent/finishingagent insertion case".

Chlorine-based bleaching agent• To use a chlorine-based bleaching agent, dilute it with

• Avoid putting the bleach directly and also applying itdirectly to the laundry. These actions cause discolorationand/or cloth damage.

NOTICE:• Be careful not to spill the bleach onto the operating panel.

When using softenerCarefully read the directions of the softener in order touse it correctly.• Pour the softener into the

softener dispenser byestimate its amount fromthe detergent amountdisplay.

• The softener will automati-cally flow into the tub duringthe final rinse.

Because of its tube-like structure, there may be thedilute water remaining inside. This; however, is notabnormal.

• If the concentrated softener is used, dilute it with waterone third of its original concentration before pouring it intothe insertion case.

NOTICE• Make sure to close the dispenser completely. Do not pour

the bleach on the upper part of the dispenser. If excessivebleach is used, then the whole bleach runs away inevitably.

• Be careful not to spill the softener onto the operating panel.If you inadvertently spill the finishing agent, with it awayimmediately.

• Do not leave the softener in the case for an extendedperiod. The finishing agent may become hard.

Cleaning the tub

"TUB CLEANING" course

The dirt from clothes or wastewater on the wash/spin basket will cause the smell or the problem ofwater draining. Such dirt from the washingprocess will then make the laundry dirty. If you arein such case, please use "Tub Cleaning"program once a month. Or in case the clotheshave been starched, please use the "Tub Clean-ing" program to remove the dirt of the starch fromthe basket.

"Tub Cleaning" Process 1 Turn the POWER on.

2 Press the button and select TUB CLEANING.

3 Press the button.

• No indicator. All indicator will light off.

4 When the pulsator (spinning board) starts to spin, addthe chlorine-type whitening detergent about 300 ml. tothe basket.• Add it at the first used water.• Do not put any clothes in the basket during the

"Tub Cleaning" program.

5 Close the lid.• If the lid is opened during the operation, the operation will

stop before the draining and rinsing process.

Finish "Tub Cleaning" process.• Beeping when the operation is finished.

MAINTENANCE

• Normally use power soap.• The amount of detergent must be more than the guided

Standard Detergent Amount.

• Do not use "Tub Cleaning" program continuously.• If there is a great amount of dirt inside the basket, you had better use the chlorine-type basket cleaner for the washing

machine. Please follow the instruction labeled on the cleaner bag.

Clean the tub.

1 The pulsator spins while the water levelincreases gradually. For the tub water, theoperation may slightly differ.

Install your washing machine in a level, stable place.• It is dangerous to place the washing machine in an

unstable location since it may move during vibration.• It will increase the sound produced by the machine when

it vibrates during use.

When you move washing machine, hold the handleson the sides.There are moving parts, electrical parts and steelplates which may cause electrical shock or injury.• Never touch on the cabinet bottom by hands.

Never lift at the cabinet bottom by hands.

When the machine is covered.Do not use the cover made of chloric vinyl. Sometimes itdamages resinous parts and painted surface. When youuse the cover made of chloric vinyl, put the cloth betweenthe machine and the cover.

Avoid place where the machine is exposed to directsunlight.• Plastic parts may become deformed or discolored.

Avoid places where the machine may become frozenduring cold weather.

Allow a space of at least 5 cm from the sides and rearof the machine to the nearest vertical object.• When placed too near to walls or other objects, the

vibration of the machine during operation may causethem to shake.

Make sure so that thebottom of the main body front does notreach the floor. If the bottom is in touchwith the floor, then it will be the causeof shaking and abnormal noise.

2 Check the position of the air bubble in the floor levelindicator.• If the bubble is not positioned inside the circle, adjust the height

Installing the drainage hose

Moving the hook• When inserting the drainage hose into a wash pan or

onto a drain pipe, the hook may be moved to facilitatethe installation.

• When hooking the hose hookinto the slot provided on thebody of your washing machine,move the hook back to its initialposition.

• Insert the drainage hose in as far as it will go, then usethe accessory hose band to secure it tightly.

• Secure the hose tightly. An improperly secured hose maycause leakage.

• When attaching the drainage hose to a wash pan, etc.,either leave a gap between the end of the hose and theadjacent surface, or cut the hose diagonally to ensureproper drainage.

Allowing the flat end of thehose to come in contactwith the flat surface of thewashing machine willimpair drainage.

Caution:• If the level of the threshold and the drainage hose is high,

the washing machine may not be drained.

• Be careful not to rub the drainage hose. Do not insert thedrainage hose under the washing machine. They may bedamaged the drainage hose.

Drainage hose extension• Pay close attention to the height of the drainage hose and

articles over which it passes. If the drainage hose is toohigh, proper drainage may not be obtained.

• The length of thedrainage hose may beextended to as muchas 3 m if kept the samelevel.

1 Lay down the machine on a flat object such as a corrugatedcardboard so that the front panel will face down.

2 Push up the stopper toward the back of the machine (thetop of the washing machine), remove it from the base of themachine and then disconnect the hose from the hose hook.

3 With the hose putting at the left side of the machine, insertthe stopper into the attachment hole on the base of themachine and pull it toward you (Make sure that the hook ishinged to the stopper).

4 Insert the hose into the hose hook at the left hand side ofthe machine.

5 After replaced, always do a test run to make sure that waterleakage or abnormal sound will not occur.

Do not remove the hose from the stopper.

The drainage hose is set to the right side of the machine at the time of shipment from the plant. When it is set to the left side,please follow the following steps for replacement.

Attaching the water supply hose to the faucet

If you attach the water supply hose completely, it may cause a water leakage.

Faucet shape Wall-mounted faucets are best.

Attaching the hose union1 Push the lock lever of the water

supply hose. Pulling the sleeve down,lower the entire hose to disconnect thehose union.

2 Check the diameter of the faucet.When the faucet mouth is large, loosethe screws and remove theinside ring to facilitate, attachment.

3 Loose 4 screws of the hose union,push the hose union to the waterfaucet.

4 Tighten the four screws evenly aroundthe faucet. In this time check the gapis approx. 4 mm between the nozzleand the ring.

5 Remove the seal from the unionand turn to the arrow destinationthe nozzle to tighten securely.

6 Check the gap is approx. 1 to3 mm between the nozzle and thering.• If the gap is wide, it may cause the water leak.• If it cause the water leakage during operation,

tighten the nozzle more securely.Caution• If you attach the hose union again because of

moving house etc., loose the gap is approx. 4 mmbetween the nozzle and thering. Then attach it accordingabove methods. They arepreventable the water leakage.

Connecting the water supply hose1 Pull the sleeve down, then insert

the water supply hose.2 Separate the sleeve until a click is

heard, then push it up.3 Check to ensure that the lock

lever is hung on the nozzle. Next,check to ensure that the watersupply hose does not come off bypulling down on it.

4 Tighten the hose nuton the end of thewater supply hose se-curely to the water in-take valve.

Caution:• Check to ensure that the water

supply hose is properly installed byturning the water on and checking forleakage.If there is leakage, connect it from thefirst.

• If you remove the water supply hoseafter supplying water, water maysplash. Refer to the following— "Removing the water supply hose".

If the filling water becomes not good

The water inlet may be blocked by foreignobjects. Remove the water supply hoseand clean the filter with a brush.• If you remove the water supply care-

lessly, water may splash. Therefore, usethe following procedure.

Removing the water supply hose1 Turn the water faucet off.2 Turn the power switch ON and press

the START/HOLD pad.3 After indicating the water level,

loosen the hose nut of the machinetop and remove it.

In case of water may freezeDrain all water from thebasket, drainage hoseand water supply hoseafter using the machine.

If the water is frozen1 Remove the water supply hose and pour in warm water (under 40°C).2 Fill warm water (under 40°C) into the basket until the pulsator is

completely covered. Leave it for 30 minutes. Then check to see whetherthe pulsator can be turned by hand.

The following are not malfunctions.

BEFORE CALLING THE SERVICEMAN

When: Check:

The first time you use your washing machine,a small amount of water may drain out of thedrainage hose.

During operation the control panel gets warm.

The pulsator rotates bit by bit.

During washing and rinsing, lamps flickers.

During spinning, suddenly supplying thewater or rinsing.

Sloshing sounds of remaining water comingfrom your washing machine after SPIN cyclehas been completed.

After pausing the machine during the spincycle, it will not starts immediately.

If operates the machine at spinning on andoff.

After water supply shut off or water with ironrust appears.

The buzzer does not stop.

• This is merely water lift over from the performance inspection performedon your washing machine before it was shipped from the factory.

• Because of the electronic parts radiate heat.

• Because of preventing the laundry unbalancing, it rotates bit by bit.

• It is the cause of the power source wiring in a house. If fluorescence lightbe changed, it may improve condition.

• Because load unbalance occurred and safety switch operated. The spinwill cycle resume after supplying water, rotating and correcting theunbalanced load.

• They are made by water retained by the machine for the purpose ofmaintaining balance and do not indicate malfunction.

• There are a short pause before the machine begins to spin as thedrainage valve opens sufficienty.

• You may hear intermittent motor sound ("coon" sound) in spinningprocess occurs, this is a sound which occurs in order to control rotation,and not a malfunction.

• Wait for water becomes clean. Returning type bleach can be used(hydrohiter etc.) when iron rust adhered to the white colored clothes. Avoidusing the bleach for colored articles.

• If the CHILD PROOF mode is set to ON, and the lid is opened while themachine is in operation, the buzzer beeps. Check inside the washingmachine. Press POWER to turn it off.
