Knee Platform Set-UpThe Nova Knee Scooter can be used for right or left leg injuries. The offset position of the seat provides better stability and increased foot clearance for pushing forward. When standing behind the scooter, the knee platform should be offset to the left for right leg injuries and offset to the right for left leg injuries (see image 6).

Knee Platform Height Adjustment• Insert the knee platform post into the frame so that the adjustment holes line up with the alignment screw (see image 7).• Release the platform clamp and unscrew the alignment screw until it can be pulled outward to allow the platform post to freely slide into the frame. The screw is spring loaded and will slide into the desired hole when released. • Adjust the platform to the desired height and allow the spring loaded screw to slide into the selected hole. Securely tighten the alignment screw to the post. • Tighten the platform clamp so that it securely holds the post at your desired position. IT IS IMPORTANT THAT THIS IS SECURELY HOLDING THE KNEE PLATFORM. TEST BY PUSHING DOWN ON THE SEAT WITH YOUR BODY WEIGHT BEFORE USE (see image 8).

Brake Adjustment Instructions• To control speed - Simply squeeze the handle towards you.• To lock wheels - Push the handle away from your body until it clicks into the

locked position (see image 9).

Brake Adjustments If you find it difficult to squeeze/lock the brake handle or that the brake shoe isnot engaging the wheel then you may need to adjust the brake (see image 10).

• To Release Tension (make it easier to squeeze or lock)Be sure the brake is in the unlocked position. Turn the brake adjustment screw counter clockwise until the desired tension is achieved. Test after each 1/2 turn. The brake should lock the wheel when in the locked position. Screw the locking nut against the brake casing to secure your desired setting (see image 9).

• To Increase Tension (make the brake engage sooner)Turn the adjustment screw clockwise until the desired tension is achieved. Test after each 1/2 turn. The brake should lock the wheel when in the locked position.

Screw the locking nut against the brake casing to secure your desired setting.
