Page 1: Titrimetry is Commonly Used in Analytical Chemistry to Quantitatively Study Analytes Ranging From Acids and Bases

Titrimetry is commonly used in analytical chemistry to quantitatively study analytes ranging from acids and bases, metal ions, complexes, and any other species. Methods of titrimetry are based on a reaction of an analyte with a reagent (titrant) which can be a solution of known concentration or an electric current of known magnitude. The stoichiometry of this reaction has made possible the determination of the quantity of analyte. Due to its speed in analysis, accuracy and precision, titrimetry continues to be a great choice for chemists in quantitative analysis.
